The Mysteries of Fame

Today’s pop music culture is increasingly opening a window to The Mysteries. What Mysteries? The mysteries of ancient cultures, with a strong focus on the most mysterious of all – Egypt, Babylon and their symbolism.

Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jayz, Kanye West and friends are currently at the top of the pop culture phenomenon which could be called the fame pyramid, looking out from the all seeing eye on their audience. One eye, gloves, baphomet, pentacles, Saturn, halo’s, pyramids, checkered floors are just some examples of the increasing use of symbols in music videos. These have been used before in the past by musicians, including the ultra famous David Bowie and Madonna. Recently they are becoming more prominent and frequent by pop-artists.

From a strictly marketing perspective, this symbolism could be placed strongly in videos to capture the wonder and curiosity of the audience. Fame, and super-stardom after all, is dependent on the audience wanting to know more about an artist. A factor strongly relating to the fusion of their persona with their art. This then develops an image of who they are, much like a symbol. The power of their image therefore holds meaning that relates to the viewer, yet still contains distance enough to continuously offer more interpretation. There’s more to unfold. The human persona therefore becomes the symbol to be interpreted.

To be a player in the high-end world of pop culture, a musicians impact is not only dependent on their music, but the symbolic representation of who they are. Increasingly the persona is uniting with powerful, symbolic imagery through photography and video to create an illusion of grand proportion.

Today’s pop artists reach heights of recognition and wonder akin to the mythology of Gods and Goddesses in ancient times. Who they are spans the globe connecting to the minds of billions. Concerts are designed to be an almost mystical experience with the star nearly being glorified as a God or Goddess. There is no coincidence in the use of the term “star” to label these artists. We’ve long been fascinated in wonder about the heavens. In the celtic druidic tradition, the Bard was the musician who shared the mystical stories, divinity, and were the tellers of the sacred stories of the mythological heroes. Now the musical artist, has become the story as the mythology surrounds who they are.

Much has been said and done in the industry and little is shocking or controversial these days. The appeal to the audiences desires of wanting to know more must be continuous, and reinvented regularly to keep things interesting. The general public are slightly familiar with some symbols in passing, yet vaguely aware of their meaning. This sets the perfect stage for mystery to provoke their attention further while also becoming a means of communicating with the audience in a subliminal way. Art by its very nature holds a variety of meanings and a lot of mystery dependent on the eye of the beholder.

When The Secret came out, it created quite a stir. It spread like wildfire, just as gossip does. We know, after all, pop culture is largely based on gossip contagiously spreading from one medium to the next, gaining interest along its path.

Gossip popularity reveals the human condition – peoples natural need to know more, and marketers take advantage of the opportunity. The Secret, certainly was named with clever marketing appeal. Everyone just had to know what the secret was right?

Now the secrets are embedded in lyrics, video’s, fashion and musicians personas. Often they are hidden in video’s only apparent to the analyst while others are dominantly apparent before the viewers eyes.

One can not know for sure who is the catalyst for the use of the mysteries in pop culture, whether it be artist, producer, cinematographer, collaborative development or other. What we do know is they are present, and considered an important part of today’s pop industry attraction. It’s not a fad that ancient culture’s symbols have been fascinating people for ages.

To perceive positively or negatively. It’s a matter of choice.

Where mysteriousness is present, conspiracies will assuredly follow in the mainstream and not surprisingly are easy to find. Remember also that conspiracies are often interpretations of bias meant to compartmentalize the subject into an ideology, depending on the interpreters personal and religious world view. Most usually the nature of a conspiracy theory is a negative message in general.

Are producers simply interested in ancient cultures? Are they interested in magical practices? Some say their magic isn’t limited to marketing the artists through the development of a mysterious persona; some believe they are using the symbols in video’s as part of powerful ritual magic. Others feel those in charge are freemason’s who have the knowledge and intention to convey the subliminal meaning of the symbols.

According to current conspiracy theories, Lady Gaga is considered the poster child for the Illuminati, and Beyonce’s alter ego Sasha Fierce is possessed by Lucifer. People are now wondering if the “good girl gone bad”, Rihanna, has actually gone to the dark side and is possessed by demons. From his Rocawear line designs, his seemingly contagious use of the pyramid sign (diamond), to his “secret” handshakes with Kanye West and his continuous, obsessive reference to the Rockefellers, JayZ is touted as a Freemason.

Conspiracies usually elaborate on fearful interpretations, and swing either way in terms of lack of awareness to the “highly illuminated”. One must ask the question though, where are those beliefs rooted from, and how are they used to influence the interpretation of the symbolism. Are those who use them, compartmentalizing the symbolism according to their own intentions and thus creating an illusionary meaning based on their ideologies?

In terms of conspiracies, it can not be known for sure who chooses to develop the popularly interpreted meaning, which is usually the negative interpretations as conspiracy theories go. Are the negative interpretations what the artists and producers are interested in projecting – an underlying conspiracy? Is it the viewer who is interpreting the imagery from the perspective of fear that are overshadowing the symbolism? Or are both sides lost in their ideologies that blasphemes the sacredness of ancient cultural spirituality and knowledge in sacred symbolism, veiling it in false views? Are the nature of the symbols being twisted for Dark Arts or are these people deeply interested in the shadow side of reality? Is it simply a natural aspect of art to incorporate symbolism.

In the West money is by far the most popular symbol. Is the use of the pyramid by today’s artists strictly representing money and thus what money can represent for power, the elite class, or negative connotations? Or are they praising their good luck, freedom and ability to enjoy the pleasures money can afford? Is the symbolism of the pyramid being referenced in pop-media as extensive as the ancient mysteries cosmology and mysticism of Ancient Egypt, the Trinity of Christian mysticism or Masonry? Does the one eye open and the other closed symbolize big brother, does it hold a universal symbolism depicted in the eye of horus or does it represent harmony of opposites, as can be seen in depictions of the Anima Mundi?

We may not know the real reason for the increasing use of the symbolism. Is it for enjoyment? Do these stars have a genuine interest in ancient symbolism? Do they really know the deeper meaning or are they playing it at face value? Are they simply doing it for controversy? Or again, is it back to marketing the mysterious?

Universal archetypes are by their very nature complex, with deep meaning, which is why they are mysterious and can not be easily compartmentalized into one interpretation.

One can be assured, from the perspective of authentic ancient cultural symbolism, any mainstream fearful interpretations are falsely being abused. Ancient mysteries and their source are, at their very essence, about the ascension to the Limitless Light of the Divine, the source of all reality. This Source is expressed in exoteric terms by religions in various ways, and in pop-culture, but at it’s very core, at it’s esoteric essence, anything that is truly spiritually based is authentic Oneness with Divinity.

    In synchronicity, on a mainstream site I just visited on the main page, Yahoo! an article states that some people who have seen Beyonce’s concerts are calling her Satanic. The headline “Is Beyonce Satanic.” But then again, is it just that they believe sex is evil? Her concerts are quite provocative for the tame, and Yahoo! is well known for their sensationalist titles for just about everything. It isn’t surprising people project their fear onto just about anything, especially what they know little of. There’s a ton of really intense video’s on this by the conspiracy theorists, which are really over the top I think.

    I was browsing online through a site where a show of Jayz’s clothes showed many symbolic depictions of the “All Seeing Eye”. I personally think that these artists are fully aware of what the symbols mean, and they are using it to their own advantage to cause a stir amongst the public audience.

    Sex has been used as controversy back in the early 80′s through Madonna’s openness to it and David Bowie’s androgyny. But their use of it was symbolic to attract popularity. Since Sex nowadays is so not taboo anymore, artists must find a different way of getting noticed.

    I think the use of symbols that are perceived to be associated with “Satan” or “evil” are reflected in the eyes of Christians mostly, and we all know that is the biggest religion in the western world.

    In order to attract the bulk of the audience, and get them talking, you need to “offend” them in some way that is common to all. Religion and its symbolic depiction is the best way to do so in this modern world…until it is no longer considered taboo.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for publishing this. It is the first calmly stated and unbiased assessment of this trend I have seen. Many other sources are loudly proclaiming this material but putting their own “the world is run by Luciferian Freemasons” spin on it, repeating debunked conspiracy theories dating back to the Taxil hoax of the 1890s, and hugely misinterpreting Judaeo-Christian/Greco-Egyptian occult symbolism as Satanic.

    My own awareness of spiritual themes in pop music came unexpectedly in the summer of 2003 when I was fascinated by Natalie Imbruglia’s song Beauty on the Fire and one day when sitting on the bus and musing about the song I got a somewhat urgent thought: This is the soul’s descent into matter. Shortly after that I happened to see Pink Floyd’s video for High Hopes, which led me online to search for the meaning of the song and I discovered Publius Enigma. Since then I’ve been occasionally noticing spiritual themes in other pop/rock songs and I started to see them as conscious or subconscious manifestations of a global spiritual process.

    Rihanna’s Umbrella video and song struck me back in 2007 as a message from God and inspired my interest in the Trinity.

    The Beyonce video with leopard I saw for the first time today and I find it powerful. The robotic Beyonce may represent the state of mankind as sophisticated but numb and awkward like a machine. Then a spark of leopard vivifies her, like an outburst of a repressed primordial, animalistic nature and she sheds a tear and the Universe appears in her eye. This strikes me like a spiritual awakening. A similar animalistic awakening theme appears in She Wolf, a new song by Shakira. By the way, Beyonce’s original video for Sweet Dreams contains a configuration of three dancers that may be a symbol of the Trinity, especially in the scene where two dancers emerge from the third (Beyonce) in the center, like a duality emerging from the primordial source.

    Duality might also be represented in the beginning of Lady Gaga’s Poker Face video, by the two big dogs sitting at the swimming pool. Lady Gaga emerges from the pool behind and between the two dogs, again like a manifestation of the primordial source. The theme of Poker Face is unpredictability and wild randomness, which is a fundamental feature of reality at the deepest level of matter, the primordial quantum chaos/undifferentiated ground of being from which the Universe and its definite structures originate.

    Lady Gaga can be mean Lady Luck in runes as in GAGAGA

    In that picture of Rihanna, I see an djed in her glove. She got her right hand over her right eye, which can mean she is either highlighting her left eye or protecting or working on her right eye. The stings on her hand are positioned so that her 2 smaller fingers look like that of a goat hand. Well I later looked on a website with pictures of the hands or feet I forgot which one of Greys(the alien life-form symbiotic to humanity that some conspiracy theorist say is responsible for most new technology coming out in this century).

    In that picture it also appears that she is holding a wound and blood is dripping down the forehead(symbolic of trepanation and occult practice of relieving pressure in the skull for improvement of telepathic ability). Her index finger has some magical writing on it. Her hair is black but there is a wispy thing coming down unto her fontanel or crown chakra. The thing coming out of her glove like a claw, could be a lot of different things, it looks like where it is touching her head that wispy white thing is touching down on her.

    The R nail on the right side, is the ALU rune. Also the nail could have been used to puncture her skull. ALU is symbolic of connecting to the higher self and then having the rain fall thus the fruits of one’s prayers.

    Her ring finger has a bigger ring on it, signifying her marriage or whatever marriage is symbolic of, so this might be associated to the rest of these ideas in this context or idea aggregating/integrating art piece.

    There is something phallic here, and I believe it was accentuated on purpose. Her nose looks like scrotum and phallus, while her eye looks like a yoni, where is the phallus pointing? Also her chin and jaw bone looks like something going on, her lipstick was put on rather thick I don’t recall her having it that thick anywhere else, the subconscious could render it as a “pagan” Egyptian sacrament to say the least. I think I can even see the left side of a naked women start of the curve of the upper buttocks the, the flank, and the left outer edge of breast above her eye accentuated by her eye makeup and the teat sharp arch of the eyebrow. Two places of entry picked most by these wispy things in my experience are behind the ears and the left teat or lower armpit.(entry to heart) Also Isis fed whoever on her left tit, maybe we are that whoever.

    In possession or channeling is is typical the entity will enter through the left side of the skull or body, and also it is typical for it to aim into the ear or behind the ear rather. And in this picture there is a black stone on her lower ear and probably behind it, stones are often used for magic or for channeling, there may be an inscription on the stone. Often times we are not even aware of the left side of our face, and it is harder to control the mien on the left side of the face at times.

    There could magical relevance to the knots around the fingers if done in a certain manner recognizable by esoteric communities. The ear could have more symbolic hints around it. I see obelisk in the left side. On the seam of her jacket on the bottom on the right side I see a face of a pharoah, and on the left I see letters RA. The nails on the top right could also represent the letters RA in a clever way.

    Also see man the arm the ribs and the upper abdomen in the shadows in the right side of her chest. He is doing a salutation or something. You know the activation for the heart meridian is in the upper inside of the elbow? Just was funny because that was right over her heart.

    Now when looking at symbolic pictures you have empathy and you have objectifying. Typically when you use something you treat it like an object, thus your active creatively actualizing eye your right eye, will see things as objects and from it’s own right and left. Where as the left eye is empathizing, it sees things from the subject’s point of view. Water spilleth into the left water overfloweth from the right. Also orientation of things also is important and more complex in how it impresses our mind, but that requires some formal learning.

    See the happy face from the ear ring and the lips in her collar? Well this is on the right side of the picture a space alloted to the right eye predominantly and it is an object not a subject, so we see a happy face, we actively search for associated context with happy face(happy face is good relations) The happy face is tilted so it is receptive, it is tilted towards it’s right, there fore it’s left side is open. Now then it’s right eye which we would be inclined to be receptive to because it is being very nice and receptive to us, is that left eye of Rihanna, which looks like an egyptian eye, and a left tit. She is on the left side so we feel what she feels and her right hand is over her right eye being submissive. Her hand on her head makes her skull look larger. She has a shadow on the right side and brightness on her left side, we empathize with that. The object on the right side is the RA ALU whatever that is being beamed down because the angle of the line behind the RA ALU nails. The R is higher than eye level, there for it is dominant. The medium level is the happy face, thus emotional etc. The bottom is the physical so the bottom you see the physical body the left arm of someone putting a sharp shiny object to their right eye or doing trepanation. The middle of the picture you see the very interactive human Rihanna, with a black on the top and if we feel more dominant than her we look above her eyes or in her eyes, so we see vagina or a teat. And if we feel less dominant to her or submissive(she does have a scary face), then we look at her lower face, which is more phallic in nature. The left side objective we see our own perspective so we see ourselves being receptive to the djet, to trepanation, to obelisk, to white fluffy hair, being trampled on by Greys. :P Also, just wanted to add this that I see above the the left shoulder of Rihanna, the outline of a Grey, and the earring is the black eye. The ear is shaped so it could outline how long their head is. Do you see it? The face in the curve and then it straightens out. Maybe it’s just me. So her neck almost looks like a whispy thing maybe it’s coming out of the Grey’s forehead? Maybe the nail in the back of the head of the Grey is like a matrix hookup? Maybe I’m thinking too much? :P The middle finger could be seen as having a grey head on it.

    The djed some say is symbolic of the cow tail bone. They say the pharaoh had to ensure he was fertile every year by raising the tail bone of a cow. I suspect the djet is more of a capacitor field creating device or some device for storage, transformation or movement of energy. I heard stories of people choosing Bulls for revitalization. You know the bull horns on isis that look in the shape of two arms coming up how that represents Ka or the soul or the vitality/electricity needed for consciousness to impress on. They say the bull is best suited for getting electrical charge or soul, except elephants and tigers are better… Some say that in 2012 the Grey’s masters and our creators will come back again. I don’t really care or have anyway to confirm this. Just something to think about. Maybe these artists are just doing massive scale initiations into an esoteric hierarchy.

    The pyramid hand mudra is used in magical acts in masonry, shintoism, buddhism, etc. I don’t know what it does, but it probably just acts as a means for the user to project their conscious or idea forms into the public. It’s funny I just watched this community channel girl do the mudra with index and little finger out and other fingers in, and she mixed it in with all her other hand gestures but that one looked orchestrated, and she said while doing the mudra at the screen “don’t do drugs kids, drugs are not cool”. It’s very interesting I wonder if people are really this conceited doing these mudras consciously or if it is just something that happens naturally by being telepathically initiated.

      there is no magic writing on her finger. It is a tattoo which says ‘Shhh’ as in be quiet. When her finger is held up to her lips, you would be able to read it as if she had made a ‘shushing’ sound. It’s a common trend amongst young people to get these tattoos on the inside of the index finger, along with the little mustache tattoos. You are reading wayyy too far into Rihannas picture. But of course you’ll probably come up with another outlandish explaination for the shhh tattoo. :-|

    So what are these critics suggesting?
    That when we watch these symbols ,listen to their songs and watch them, are we somehow getting initiated or what? what happened to freedom of rights?

    at first when i heard of this stuff I thought “wtf are people talking about?” and then I put it into consideration and well I think its ridiculous. But I mean who knows there could be some sort of symbolic matters behind all of this. But don’t you think they’d be open to answering questions about it? Don’t you think they would’ve shared this with the public? I don’t know if its true or false. It’s just sorta ridiculous.
