Real World Practical Meanings of Tarot Cards

Cards have standard meanings but do you think sometimes when trying to figure something out in life that is more specific the cards may say more than we think?

For instance I was asking a question about why my dog had his medical issues. I got the card above, reversed. I didn't really know what to think.

The next day I got a call and his new caretaker said one of the possibilities may me hydrocephalus, fluid accumulation on the brain. When I think of this card relating to that condition it seems to make sense. What do you think? When you're reading cards such answers may not be considered until after the fact and you can piece together the new information and it seems to make sense..

Sylvia Browne wrong. Claims Amanda Berry is dead, but she's found alive.

Well you know, Sylvia Browne has often gotten a lot of flack for her psychic predictions. Now she's in the news again for claiming a woman, Amanda Berry, to be dead, but she's actually alive.

One of my favorite quotes from Sylvia Browne is "I predict the weather is going to be unpredictable this year."

Not surprisingly, Sylvia Browne isn't saying a word to the media about this yet.

Dream Symbolism

Hello Folks, it feels good to be back after a long, long pause - typical of life's twists and turns.

a lot has happened ever since, especially regarding dreams and their meanings. The challenges i face of late is to be able to decipher the dreams according to the experiences i have. i would however appreciate more information on the subject of dream symbolism, especially relating to animals. People say when you dream of particular animals at a point in time, there may be a spiritual lesson or duty to take up or work on. they could also serve as spirits guides. is there any current literature on the subject that anyone of you can recommend?:) I am really looking forward to contributions on this subject. Beltane - The Great Rite Within

Wishing everyone a very Blessed Beltane! While there is immense focus on the Great Rite and sexuality at this time, I personally view Beltane as a festival of perfect union of the male and female energies within. This is a reminder that, to exist in complete harmony with nature, one must live in a state of perfect balance of receiving and giving, nurture and fierceness - female and male. The Wheel of the Year consist of eight sabbats representing seasonal change. For me, this is a perfect time not just to observe the seasons in nature but more importantly take stock of our inner world and see how that is changing.

Sit down in a quiet space with a pen and paper. List down areas in your life that are working well, and are not. Then assign them a gender. Do you see a trend in your list? Are you stronger in one area and weaker in the other?

This is a perfect time to work towards this balance. When you have identified one gender to be under-operating in your life, take immediate steps to work on it. Just for today, do an act that represents that gender energetically. If you have trouble asking for help and accepting the help offered to you, your feminine energy may be out of balance. You may have a strong masculine need for independence and strength and you may view asking help as a sign of weakness. You may also fear that they will refuse, which you interpret as a sign of rejection. If this is true for you, only for today, call a friend or family member or even a colleague. Ask them to help you with something that you otherwise do on your own. It can be something as simple as picking up your laundry to assisting with a larger project at work. It does not matter whether the help itself is something big or small, what matters is that you asked for it. Don't worry if they refuse - it is their free will and choice.

The same holds true if your feminine side is on an overdrive where you have issues with power and independence. You may view assertiveness as being agressive. If this is true for you, only for today take a strong standpoint. Again, it does not matter whether it is big or small. Take a look at things you have been wanting to do and do it. Also look at things that you don't want to do but have been doing to please someone. Go up to them and say "No". Be absolutely unapologetic about it. Every time you interact with someone, look them in the eye, keep your head high and talk with a strong voice.

When you sit for a meditation today, bring forth a male and female energy that you work closely with. It can be a deity, ascended master, gods/goddesses or angels. See both the energies merge into you and fill you in perfect halves. See yourself as a vessel of perfect balance and union of the feminine and masculine.

You are Perfect, Whole and Complete.

1 World Trade Center Spire

'Tallest' building in the West? Symbolic One World Trade Center aspires with spire

It was to go up on April 29, 2013 but weather conditions made them postpone it a few days. I wonder if there is significance to the date. It will be ready to open in 2014.

Lunar Eclipse - Meet Your Shadow Self

Science tells us that a lunar eclipse is caused when the sun, earth and the moon are in alignment, with the earth in between. The shadow of the earth that casts on the moon causes the full moon to become dark and invisible. When I read this description, what strikes me the most is the importance of the shadow. It is the shadow that causes the whole phenomenon to occur.

The moon has been linked to have psychological impact on the minds of humans and animals. The effect of the full moon on the ocean and tides is already proven and accepted. Its impact on the human body, which is over 60% water and the human brain in particular, which is over 70% water is only an obvious inference.

Now, lets go back to my favorite subject - The Shadow. Psychologists like Carl Jung have done elaborate study on the subject of the shadow self. The shadow, according to Jungian psychology, is our dark self. The shadow is the crazy lunatic, the werewolf that rears its ugly head in all its monstrosity, animalistic instinct and barbarism. It is the wicked witch of the fairy tales - the embodiment of all things undesirable; all things dark. The more you ignore the shadow, the denser and stronger it gets. Your fears, inhibitions, jealousy, anger all reside in this dark self. As light beings on the path to spiritual evolution, lightworkers especially do not like to spend too much time and energy on the shadow self. We keep our focus on our good qualities in an attempt to grow and strengthen it.

However, remember that awareness and acceptance of the shadow is the first step towards a holistic growth. Like a dark corner of a room that hardly gets any light, your shadow exists in the cold dampness of the eclipse. You know it exists but you can not clearly see it unless the eclipse lifts and you throw the light of your consciousness. In several religions and mythology, the shadow is an important archetype represented by deities such as Kali, Erebos, Morrighan, Hekate etc. This lunar eclipse is a perfect time to spend time with your shadow self and set forth on a journey to embrace it.

As the eclipse approaches tonight, find a quite space in your home or outside in nature. Switch off all the lights in the room or find the darkest spot if outside and light a single candle. A black candle can work wonders, but any candle will do. You can light an incense, play soft music in the background if you wish to. The aim of this set up is to relax you and ease you into a subliminal mental state. Settle down and take a few deep breaths to calm yourself. With each breath, release all tension and stress. Release all anxiety, fear or hesitation in meeting your dark side. If you wish, you may call upon a deity, angel or guide to support you. Archangel Gabriel is wonderful in helping you face your darkness and shadow, Archangel Raphael can aid with the healing process. You may also call upon Morrighan, Kali or other archetypal dark deities for their strength.

Close your eyes and feel the darkness. Experience the shift from the dim candle lit room to utter darkness - the complete blackness. This is your shadow self. Your deepest, darkest memories and desires, your animalistic instinct, your utmost fears all reside here. Now, imagine if your dark self were to take a form. What would it be? It could be human, animal, plant, or just a formless color or shape. Once it materializes completely, see yourself standing right in front of this form, facing it. What do you see? Pay attention to the details - the texture, height or weight, the colors and forms. Tune in to the energy of this form. What does it feel? Anger? Fear? Pain? Sorrow? Stay quiet and feel your shadow. Let your shadow communicate with you through thoughts, emotions, images or words. Stay however long you want in this space.

Once your shadow is done communicating, ask if you have the permission to reach out to it. While it may be a part of your psyche, not all energies within you want to be touched. If you have the permission, slowly step forward and hold your shadow. Embrace your shadow with all your heart. Feel your heart chakra expand to surround both your energies and illuminate the space. Express unconditional love and deep gratitude to your shadow for it is a part of who you are. You may verbally say 'I love and accept you' if you wish. For some, the shadow may merge into you right away symbolizing a unification and complete acceptance. For others, it may still require more work. Don't force anything, let things unfold on its own course. You may also feel that this is a space you need to return to in order to continue the work with your shadow. With time, your shadow will be ready to step into the light and unify with you.

When you are ready, return your consciousness to your body. Feel your breath, feel your toes and fingers and the rest of your body. When you are ready, open your eyes. Focus once again on the candle flame and express gratitude to your self for taking this journey and your shadow for willing to appear and work with you. If you invited archangels, deities or guides to walk with you, express gratitude to them for their strength and support. Ground and release excess energy into the universe.

You can repeat this exercise at anytime, however, it does work best during eclipse and the dark moon.

Anxiety, Panic Attacks, and Depression

(I hope this is the right place to post this, I apologize if it isn't!)

I keep re-writing this post because I'm trying not to dump my whole history here, so I'll just say that for most of my life I've struggled with these things. I go through periods where it is quite bad, and I am in a period like that now. I am supposed to take anti-depressants, but I don't like how they make me feel, and they don't help all that much anyway. I am seeing a therapist who is pretty good, but I don't know if I can see him for much longer.

I guess I am wondering what, from a spiritual perspective, may cause things like this. What experiences has anyone had with these feelings? What makes them go away?

I am desperate to try almost anything other than meds. I'm so paranoid about the effects they can have, and like I said, they made me feel really weird.
