Oh yes that evilness, I honestly thought it was going to be one of those day dream scenes where it really didn't happen. I am starting to really enjoy the strenght of her character!

Re: True Blood! Fans - Spoiler last show of season 3

The Sookie/True Blood books are very different from the TV Series. The general ideas are the same. SPOILER ALERT for those who have not read the books and wish too. I'm only making comparisons from Series to date, so there shouldn't be any potential spoilers for those who haven't read the books and don't plan too.

It's weird, first when I saw TB I loved it! And then I started to read the books and didn't care for them as much, now I enjoy the books more than I do the Series. Sookie is a Faery in the books, but none of this altered dream/reality state stuff. She doesn't venture into the land of Fae, and Claudine, first acts as her Fairy Godmother of sorts, being 6 ft tall and just beautiful, but she has this great personality and just seems to show up out of no where when she's needed. Lafayette dies in the fist half of the first book, so his minor character in the book is a main one in the Series, also there is no Jessica in the books, she's a new character all together. Alcide, is not whimpy and he's more of a man and protective of Sookie, Crystal and her whole family are not Meth dealers, they keep to themselves more because of the Panther thing and keeping the blood line in the "family". The father (I haven't had coffee yet so my brain isn't up to par, can't remember his name at the moment) he's not the slime bucket protrayed in the show, I actually really liked his character in the books and he was good to Sookie and protective of her as well, come to think of it, almost most men were protective of her in the book, .

So in the end, it's not like Twlight Saga where the movies closely follow the books. True Blood very loosely follows the Sookie books, only taking the general spirit of the books and then making the adaptations.

Sookie got really evil putting Talbot's remains down the garbage disposal!

Are the Sookie series different than the True Blood series of books?

Re: True Blood! Fans - Spoiler last show of season 3

I'm not liking this faery lala thing going on with Sookie, in the books the Fae were a bit more cool and not so typical faery like. I also knew Tara was going to cut her hair off, and it looks horrible, this hideous puff........ I'm not too sure I like the direction Sam is going. And Jessica I seem to like her more each episode! I wasn't fond of her at first, but now I couldn't imagine the show without her. I also love Pam, and her zingy and witty on liners! As in the books, I have started not liking Bill again and have a much stronger preferance for Eric. I loved his character in the book as well. I like how they "killed" off Rusell, leaving an open possibility of his return at any given moment. Jesus the Witch that should be interesting next season!

I really wish that HBO didn't make us wait for 8 months before the next season, the season itself is extremely short, I wish that they would have a 24 episode season, It's not like there is a lack of materiel, especially since they really deviate from the book a lot. Not to mention that Charlaine Harris will be release the 11th book in the Sookie series next spring.

Re: True Blood! Fans - Spoiler last show of season 3

So Sookie went to fairyland after all that, I was wondering if there was a vampire watching in the shadows.

Jesus is a witch, that's pretty cool, Lafayette was happy. I guess Lafayette had to much V and is having flashbacks?

Tara, I hope she comes back. So funny when she picked up the scissors I thought "She's going to cut her hair" not kill herself like one would assume, and she did.

I don't get why Bill thought Eric wouldn't be able to get out of a little bit of wet concrete.

Anyhow, I can't believe this season is over. I'm disappointed.

Oh yah, finding out about Sam's background was definitely interesting. I hadn't suspected in the least, but what I really love is that anything is up for grabs when it comes to someone's past, which can really create a new dynamic. I liked learning more about Eric's past a few weeks ago.

I wonder if the jewelery stuff Sam was into will come back to haunt him. Like I said, I do have to re-watch that episode because my dog was playing and a little distracting. I want to make sure I get all the details before next week's episode. I know it was an accident about killing that girl. Sam's brother I can't stand, what an ass! He was such an innocent character a few years ago in Prison Break. With Sam's family roots, it seems there isn't so much innocence in his blood, so it will be interesting to see how his story develops about not being such a goody-two-shoes.

    Re: True Blood! Fans

I didn't know that her Mormon faith had influence on her writting style. Interesting...... I still enjoy it and it reminds me of days of ole....

Yes, Jesus is very easy on the eyes! Yum! LOL Yes, I think they just go married! I know that they were engaged. No wonder they have such great chemistry

I also didn't feel that she was cast properly for this part.... But with that said she grown on me as Sookie, I just wish she'd fix the gap in her front teeth.

And yes the vamp blood thing, I often wondered about that myself too. I remember in earlier seasons that Lafayette told Jason that he needs to do little bits at a time, the drop on the tissue..... and how too much can make you crazy. Yet when you're dying it's a life force. But then when the Were's were consuming it they didn't go made, just high..... I wonder if that will be explained later on...

Oh and Lafayettes mother, I have often wondered if she really is crazy....... I'd like to know her story.

What did you all think of Sam's background? I'm not sure if I liked that myself, I liked his good guy persona.

Speaking of sookie! I'm not sure I like Anna Paquin's acting. I do really like the character, but something feels off for some reason, like this constant confusion and straining to get her point across. I remember her from X-men, but don't recall her acting in that. I am not so sure. Maybe it's just the way the character is meant to be played?

    Re: True Blood! Fans

I have absolutely loved this show, and especially this season! I do think Lafayette's mom has already alluded to what his journey will hold. Loved his visions with Jesus. Would love to see Jesus as a regular. OMG, he brings great energy is is very easy on the eyes if I may say ol

I have heard that the books are very different than the show. It is more fair to say the show is inspired by the books, rather than an adaption.

Twilight strikes me as for younger people. The author of the Twilight series has said that he Mormon faith guided her writing. It is evident in the story lines to me. Alan Ball is clearly more open to other kinds of spirituality. I love it!

Sookie being a fairy will be interesting. He background is all light. Vampires represent the dark. Interesting how they are drawn to each other. should provide some nice symbolic content to consider.

side note- in real life, sookie and bill recently got married!

    Re: True Blood! Fans

only 2 more shows to go! I thought the seasons were short but couldn't remember from last year. I asked someone and they said 18 episodes and I was excited there would be so much more, but only 2 more ughh!

Ok there's something I don't understand about the vampire blood. Take a little bit, you get totally high and out of it like on acid, drink a whole bunch when you're nearly dead and you come back to life feeling good but not totally wacked out? Wouldn't drinking so much make your brain go into overdrive and you'd just pass out or something?

When I heard the word "Wicca" in the show, I was so happy. Since the show is so mainstream I thought it was great to hear it said to all the viewers. But yah, many people will likely think it's dark, as they already do, but she is a healer as she mentioned. She's way to nosy for me! I would get so annoyed with her busy-body behaviour.

I wonder if many men who like the show get uncomfortable watching it with all the gay stuff going on.

Tara, she's crying a lot yah. She seems so traumatized by everything going on in her life. I would be traumatized if I had that creepy vampire kidnap me too! She's such a tough cookie, but I guess we are seeing her vulnerability coming out.
