...and we still have a guy with a plank of wood claiming that he is responsible for all of these...Most complex crop circle ever discovered in British fields

The most complex, "mind-boggling" crop circle ever to be seen in Britain has been discovered in a barley field in Wiltshire.

The circle is a coded representation of pi to the 10th significant figure
The formation, measuring 150ft in diameter, is apparently a coded image representing the first 10 digits, 3.141592654, of pi.
It is has appeared in a field near Barbury Castle, an iron-age hill fort above Wroughton, Wilts, and has been described by astrophysicists as "mind-boggling".
Michael Reed, an astrophysicist, said: "The tenth digit has even been correctly rounded up. The little dot near the centre is the decimal point.
"The code is based on 10 angular segments with the radial jumps being the indicator of each segment.
"Starting at the centre and counting the number of one-tenth segments in each section contained by the change in radius clearly shows the values of the first 10 digits in the value of pi."
Lucy Pringle, a researcher of crop formations, said: "This is an astounding development - it is a seminal event."
Mathematics codes and geometric patterns have long been an important factor in crop circle formations. One of the best known formations showed the image of a highly complex set of shapes known as The Julia Set, 12 years ago.

I read recently that it is a widely accepted theory that the circles may be created by plasma discharge from the upper atmosphere. With such compexity, suggesting a very definite intelligence behind the phenomena, it is hard to reconcile this theory with what we see on the ground.
In various places across the forum, it has been suggested that ET is of etheric origin. Could it be that there is an etheric significance and causative influence upon the creation of crop circles?
We are like the spider. We weave our life and then move along in it.
We are like the dreamer who dreams and then lives in the dream.
This is true for the entire universe.

Thanks for that Tehuti.
I found this video kind of brings everything together...
In terms of the patterns generated, I would expect random 'balls of light' to pretty much produce random 'patterns'.
Do you feel that there is some intelligence behind the manner in which the balls establish the patterns?

I have always found crop circles fascinating, they hold much wonder and mystery. It's not so much the who or what that created the crop circles, it's their sacred geometric patterns that I find so amazing. To think that we are connected by this universal language of mathematics and form manifested by these complexities.
It's like looking into a microscope of the building blocks of the universe. Considering everything is energy, it does not shock me in the least that energy forms of light manifest these complex, beautiful forms.
Even if it is merely humans creating these with wood, it is still fascinating the level of understand and intelligence we as humans are achieving through understanding the mathematical equations that make these mysterious circles so complex. Isn't it amazing that we are at a stage of evolution to scientfically peer into these mysterious shapes, yet ancient civilizations were also advanced in the art and magic of sacred geometry.

Bruce Rawles is currently compiling years of crop circle research, which I'm looking forward to. (I'm a visual artist and obsessed with sacred geometry.) His work with sacred geometry is great and I highly recommend his book, Sacred Geometry Design Sourcebook. At Emerald Energies you can check out interviews covering a basic overview and Sacred Geometry and the Seven Hermetic Laws.
In nature, we find patterns, designs and structures from the most minuscule particles, to expressions of life discernible by human eyes, to the greater cosmos. These inevitably follow geometrical archetypes, which reveal to us the nature of each form and its vibrational resonances. They are also symbolic of the underlying metaphysical principle of the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole. It is this principle of oneness underlying all geometry that permeates the architecture of all form in its myriad diversity. This principle of interconnectedness, inseparability and union provides us with a continuous reminder of our relationship to the whole, a blueprint for the mind to the sacred foundation of all things created. - excerpt, Sacred Geometry Design Sourcebook by Bruce Rawles

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I have become a bit hard skinned about the whole U.F.O phenomenon, living here in Mt. Shasta California. This is one of the areas where many, many sightings have been reported and there are tales of everything from little blue men, bopping around the woods on the mountain to a huge underground city which houses descendants from Atlantis. There's a lot of far out talk and I am pretty open minded but I feel much of the stories simply reek of fluffiness or seem to contain ulterior motive. Outright skepticism can be as unhealthy as a lack of discriminating awareness but I always found myself thinking "yeah, sure you did, mate" when hearing some of the outlandish claims. As far as crop circles are concerned, I always wondered what the real story is and would certainly entertain the possibility that they are not created by men with a misplaced sense of humor. The words of the Dutch physicist in the video you posted could certainly not be easily discredited, especially when coupled with the video of the small orbs of light. My interest has certainly been peaked and I should not have so easily grouped crop circles into the category of far fetched U.F.O tales. In fact the biggest question in my mind is : Do they have anything to do with alien intelligence at all? The spheres of light remind me of the "Will 'o' the wisp" from stories of old.
Interesting.
