Description: Zeitgeist, the Movie is a 2007 documentary film, produced by Peter Joseph about the Jesus myth hypothesis, the attacks of 9/11, and the Federal Reserve Bank as well as a number of conspiracy theories related to those three main topics. It was released free online via Google Video in June of 2007. A remastered version was presented as a global premiere on November 10, 2007 at the 4th Annual Artivist Film Festival & Artivist Awards. The film has attracted significant public interest.

This is a very interesting movie. Has anyone watched it? It gets a bit commercial here and there and making the documentary more sensational than it should. But the information is very interesting. As always, I wouldn't buy all that is thrown at me, however it never hurts to listen to what others say.

I cant understand why it was moved to sci-fi section though? when its a documentry. I like the first section the most as it kind of blows the jesus story wide apart. Yes there is alot of good points raised here, but like anything like this its a case of picking the diamonds out the **** so to speak

This movie has been sensationalized to capture the interest of online web surfers in an era where the esoteric can be a commodity. There are far better sources for this information and ways of conveying it without the lack of cohesion and failure in creating a final conclusion.

I understand what you're saying... I haven't watched the above videos yet as I've simply not had time yet. But I do find that there are many sensationalist, extremists that make videos and fit the mythology and symbolism into hardcore perceptions of conspiracy which turns the beauty of the ancient mysteries and symbolism into something many will fear by the methods they use for sensationalism. Its sad that on the one hand the films try to make relevant to the masses historical symbols, yet they do it with extreme bias and slants of fear.

That being said... The Davinci Code is going to be analyzed by the History Channel next week which should be interesting.

Just finished watching it.

This is a film that gets you to think, sure it is sensationalist by nature of these types of films but I do like the conclusions discussion points. I have come across all the subjects in this film over the years, but it's great to have it laid out well, and the subject of the banking system was interesting.

The end of this film has the key.

It is the ego that has created and continues to develop this situation, the illusion of separateness as a desire.

So how do we, the proles, overcome these things? It must be in the key of understanding oneness and living it, to release the illusion of separateness. Again, I return to the thoughts on how we perceive ourselves, our purpose in this world, beyond the matters of the physical conditions these powers impose, but of a higher level of consciousness, our place beyond the matters of this world.

I think the revolution has to do with us bringing our spiritual selves to the world, and living in accordance with higher values. But through the powerful imposition of dictation in all its forms, how do we detach ourselves to being part of this system?

The point at the end of this film on how we become numb to knowing what's happening because of the "entertainment" of the media... It has me think on my somewhat strong distaste for the concept of facebook... sure it connects you to some friends and connections easily which is a good benefit surely, but a vast majority of it is based on meaningless applications, time consumed by nonsense... It means squat if you have a million friends on your facebook, beyond your immediate friends, it creates the illusion of connection, and in some ways does connect you to a few good friends (but no further beyond what email can do... In fact a personal email to someone can be so much more powerful, or a meaningful discussion)... but for the most part, numbers of friends on lists is just an egoic desire. For me the only benefit of facebook would be pictures (but then there's flickr much preferred). I think the pictures are a small percentage of what the systems intentions are... a way to get people pulled in perhaps to use the system... and in the process become numb, as entertainment often does, in so many ways.

I don't discount the value in enjoying life, in getting joy from entertainment, but with all that is now perceived as entertaining, the real joys of life are lost. What about going outside for a walk, exploring the forest, the trees and being "entertained" by the wonders of the world... Will reality tv ever end in its current form... it just seems to keep going and going...

And in the aspect of the poor education system, because they don't want people to have critical thinking so they don't get in the way of the systems progress, this I can believe.

There's much to discuss I'm sure...

I think the apparent step for the evolution of humanity is to overcome the ego, the greed, and a new way of living may emerge.

Also if you search you tube, you can find a film called 'zeitgeist refuted' which is for want of a better term to describe it, the christian response to the film (i watched about 10 minutes only and have had enough). Also theres plenty of other stuff related.
