How does one go about reading passed lives? I do not know anyone in my area that deals with divination of this sort. I am very curious about learning about my own passed live(s) though.

That is one of the many paths to self discovery understanding who you were in the past life. It would require allot of meditation and self sacrifice to venture that narrow path to self realization. For this path is a path one seeks them self on that path the divine forces strip away who you think you are as you face who you really are.
I was under the impression that divination can be used as a tool by someone to learn about past lives. What I mean is, I could find someone that would be able to say "hey, this is what a past life of yours was like."
Maybe I am going about this the wrong way though. From what you said **************, it is more of a personal journey. I need to think about this further.
Thanks
Well Tanzy, I don't know if that is possible. But I do know that past life regression sessions are very useful in understanding of your present lives and conditions. I have read a lot about it in Dr. Brian Weiss's books on past life and how you still see echos of it in your current birth. He mainly focuses on how certain psychological problems such as chronic anxiety, phobias can be associated with a traumatic event in your past life/lives.
You can get his books and read more about them. If you are interested in experiencing a past life session, you can attend a workshop. Details on venue and dates can be found at his website www.brianweiss.com. Do read his books if you like reading and investigating more about past life regressions.

There are many books that do help the seeker to discover their past lives. And it does require much discipline living the ordinary 9-5 way of life really does not help. You are more likely to receive the opposite effect and become someone else.
To find someone that would be able to say "hey, this is what a past life of yours was like. Really you do have to take them at face value. Especially after you have spent a certain amount of money for them to tell you who you were in some past life. Most people usually go for a 2nd opinion to someone else because of some doubt and reassurance is needed, and after receiving a different answer then your left in the grey cloud of suspicion and more doubt. That's why I said one of the many paths to self discovery understanding who you were in the past life. It would require a lot of meditation and self sacrifice and self discipline to venture that narrow path to self realization. For this path is a path one seeks them self on that path the divine forces strip away who you think you are as you face who you really are. Because you will know its an honest answer because it's coming form you.
Ashwini has a really good point when she stated ( I don't know if that is possible. But I do know that past life regression sessions are very useful in understanding of your present lives and conditions. ) this is very true and I agree. My understanding of the spiritual path and the path to self discovery whether it be past life or not is a solitary path this may be my independent way of life speaking but I'm honest in all of my opinions. The people you meet in this life and share time may it be family members, teachers, friends or foe could very well be people you had some kind of karmic relationship in a past life. We are all here to share and experience a life for all are actions cause some kind of reaction as the ripples of time pass through from one life to the next.

I understand astrology as a form of divination, and there are certainly systems of astrology that focus on past lives. Edgar Casey is a good person to read if you want to understand one way of looking at the astrology chart for its past life potential.
Greetings Tanzy,
We (my family) had the opportunity once to have a photo of our aura taken and read. I know absolutely nothing about this subject and have never researched it, so hopefully someone out there can speak about how well this works, etc. Anyway, I remember that one of the comments regarding one of photos was that she was an old soul.
Maybe you can look into it and see if that would help.

I read a bit about north nodes in astrology, if I am right it tells you about your past life, your karmic theme, the qualities you need to develop etc. My north node is in Aries, in the Ninth House, from what I could read about it it made sens to me, and gave me good insight what kind of person I must have been in my past.
Yes, Astrology for the Soul by Jan Spiller, Bantum Books, 1997 (although there are later editions, I believe) is a very good beginning.
There are some particular tarot spreads which I've seen used to great effect by good tarot readers. Konraad's Past Lives spread is one such. It is a large and quite complex spread, however. It is better, I think, to get someone to do this reading with you.
Sometimes you can get a sense of past lives through particular issues you're dealing with in your current life but this is a little hard to make sense of without a great deal of patience and insight and you can never be sure.
There are some guided meditations which can give interesting clues as well.
Just incidentally, I love poetry and have often thought I'd love to be a good poet but have never really made the time or effort to work towards this. I read somewhere jist recently that this might mean that I might have been a poet in a past life and am simply feeling a little 'homesick' for the echoes of that life.
Who knows? But intuitively that rang with some truth.
Good luck in your exploration ( to the original poster). You may come to the same realisation as I - that it is really this life which matters, and what we do with the time and capacity we have.
All the best.
