I use the full of the moon quite a bit. I think the belief may stem to the changing tides as the phases of the moon and sun progress through the year.
In Hoodoo there is the belief that no magick work should be done 3 days before the full moon. Unless it was already in the work, then you can continue. Does anyone else belief system follow this 3 day before the moon no work? I don't know where this comes from or really why? I noticed the moon tonight and saw that the three day period was upon me.

"Ah, Love, Could thou and I conspire, To grasp this sorry scheme of things entire, Would we not shatter it to bits, And then rebuild it nearer to the hearts desire?"

A lot of crazy things happen during these new moon dates... either external or internal change happens... you see everything build up from 3 days minus the moon... and simmer down 3 days after the moon... everything seem to be out of balance emotionally during these times... people get upset over silly things... throw tantrums... some people die during these times... so I guess people who perform magick and those who receive won't necessarily benefit from it as they would on days when your rationality plays a stronger role. Astrologers normally instruct people never to have a surgery on New moon/ moon in scorpio days because you'll bleed much more. Perhaps, a pattern?
