Esoteric Books?

As you can tell by my name, i am very interested in the author Mark Booth after i read his book "The Secret History of The World: As Told by The Secret Societies. It is an incredible read, and i would suggest if you get a chance to sit down and read it.

Getting to my point, i was wondering if anyone knew of any really good books involving esoteric thought. If so please let me know. thank you

Not aware of the work of Mark Booth, so is there a particular field which interests you? Or is it just some primers you are looking for?

Personally, I came to the esoteric through recognising that a lot of stuff was missing from the standard interpretation of biblical lore, so read anything I could get my hands on which might illuminate: tarot, kabbalah, Von Danniken, Ouspensky, Egyptian and Greek mythologies, Arthurlian, Crowley, Bhagavagita, quantum physics.... to name a few.

But without knowing what currently floats your boat, I'm at a loss what to recommend... Hopefully someone else knows Booth and can suggest something that may be of interest

I don't know Booth either, so it would be nice to have a review (hint, hint) .. and came at esoteric thought via Dion Fortune,Regardie, Crowley, Rampa.. and, like Haruth, anything I could then get my hands on. You soon end up learning what is worth reading, and what is purely a waste of time and money!

Oh yes I love this book, but have found it often difficult to grasp some of the knowledge within such as in the sections on Qabalah. It is as a book for study rather than easily absorbed reading.

Although it does have a nice "Coles Notes" version of the Chemical Romance. Finally able to understand that story after reading the summary of it.

If it helps I am currently reading the Celestine Prophecy, and I've also started reading From Atlantis to The Sphinx by Colin Wilson. I will have to check out Manly Palmer Hall for sure. I read the Celestine Prophecy in '98. It was pivotal in being introduced to synchronicity. Not the best written book but interesting and great for perceiving the world through spiritual visualizations. The magical connection to nature resonated with me a lot. I never saw the movie. I believe the production value was a low budget B-movie, too bad. Possibly if the storyline was written by a seasoned professional it would have made it to the big screen.

I've not been reading a wide variety of books lately as I've been busy working, however the Mystical Qabalah is one that I am currently working on and absolutely love.

An author I want to get into is Israel Regardie. His book on the Golden Dawn is well over 1000 pages though, so surely it will take me aeon's to get into it and/or through it. It is always on my mind though, as to a book I want to explore.

J.H.Brennan's works, Robert Graves' White Goddess, Israel Regardie, Bullfinch's Mythology, Blavarsky, W.E.Butler, Frazer's Golden Bough, a selection of Egyptian myths (Lewis Spence is good), Campbell, R.J.Stewart, Doreen Valiente, Robert Wang, the Arthurian and Celtic myths, Greek, Roman and native american mythology ....

Should keep you going for a little while..
