What about Tigers eye? I thought that was standard... not essential???
Did you clear the programming? If not, then try that and see if it makes a difference. However, it sounds as though this crystal may have been programmed for malicious purposes or influenced by someone who was working with "dangerous" [to you] energy. If the crystal doesn't feel good, please don't wear it or have it around you. You should never work with crystals that don't feel good to your energy. Your body is telling you that the crystal is not working in sync with it.

Pretty handy, but easily enough substituted by using sunstone in conjunction with tourmaline.
(Prettier too, though... OK, you talked me into it...I'll add it to the list...)
