Is Masonry a modern mish-mash of ancient religious symbols?

What I like to look at is the symbolism and historical perspective. Video 5 goes into historical geography of religions. The speaker does come from a Christian perspective, not sure which denomination... Luckily he doesn't proselytize that much though. Interesting still, nonetheless.

Interesting quote from Blavatsky brought up in video 7 on the worship of Mary, which stands on the tower of Babel, and Mary is Isis, the Queen of Babylon.
