I really like Jung and Tarot, which I am borrowing from the library for the second time. It talks about the Major arcana cards and provides great detail explaining the symbolism I haven't found in other books. It uses the Marseilles deck as reference for the most part, with elaborations and comparisons with some other decks.

'Le Tarot des Imagiers du moyen age' Roger Caillois..possibly. I think this is the right author. It was a brilliant book, told as a personal journey and touching on all aspects of using the tarot for inner and outer life.

Vol 2 of Gareth Knight's Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism.. what it says on the tin. Excellent.

I've read a lot of books about tarot, but one of my favorites is the Goddesses's Tarot by Kris Waldherr because is like a tool for the spirit and soul and it helps You in the personal growth, but in special It allows You to give honor to the different goddesses.

I love Kris Waldherr's tarot cards! As far as books go my favourite is Tarot Damour. I really like the description of each card in relation to love, sex and relationships. In doing love readings I find them to be spot on.

I like the Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom by Rachel Pollack. I haven't been involved with reading/studying the Tarot for all that long so I needed a pretty in-depth book to give me a good basis for understanding it. This book also uses the Rider Waite Pack as its primary source and that is the deck I've started with. It has both the Minor and Major and really connects the cards in sequence to make it a little more understandable for a beginner.

Sounds like I need to check out the Jung and Tarot.
