    Is 2010 the year?

What have you been putting off?

Will it be a fresh start?

Will you fall off the wagon? What wagon?

What challenges do you face in 2010? What have you overcome and learned in 2009?

Is it greener on the other side?

All these types of questions many ask themselves and think about when it's time for a new year to roll around. Traveling around this solar system looking for meaning in life, pleasure and joy, abundance, and grounding.

Sometimes we feel like we aren't living to our potential. Sometimes we feel accomplished, but still seek more. Sometimes we feel satisfied and content. Sometimes we feel lost and burdened. Sometimes we feel like we have it all, and others, nothing at all.

We're all here, living our lives, becoming who we are, setting goals, creating new moments for ourselves and those we encounter. But what exactly is it, that meaning to life, that which gives us drive to continue on, to persevere, to move forward and create a newer reality, to explore our visions of our highest potential?

Who do we become? Who do we not become? What are our regrets, fears, losses? What have we left behind, turned away from, and turned towards? What are our motivations, inspirations and purpose?

This is a new decade. 2010 may be just another year, another number, but it is a new decade according to that calendar we've been following for what... 2010 years already. We've been at it for a long time. Longer than our current calendar counts, and we might just be at it for a much longer time thereafter. So where do we go? What do we do? What are our wants, needs, desires, challenges?

Life is a myth. It's the grandest story ever told, and we're living it. We're here, right now, in the thick of it, and we have choices to make, people to see, things to do. So what will the next journey around the sun hold, we don't really know, but we can envision it. We can root ourselves in the earth, and reach for the sky and embrace each moment of living. We can cry, scream, fight, and we can laugh, love, hope and smile.

We're alive. We're kicking up a storm, doing a jig, sleeping under the stars every night, waking up to a new dawn every morning, taking one more breath and letting it out.

We can make plans, we can fall in line with our destinies. We can love it or leave it. We can live our truth or live in the shadows. We are one and all.

There are things we haven't done, places we haven't seen, idea's we haven't thought, but they're coming. They're available to us, and we can take advantage of them. Make use of our best abilities. Give ourselves permission to be who we are and love it, love every moment of it, accept it, or reject it. We have the power to be present, right here, right now, and be at peace with it. We are the reality we know. The only reality we know, through all our perceptions and all our blinders, we're here, living it up for better or worse. It's time to make a choice. There is no moment other than now. Tomorrow will be today, just like yesterday. We're all in this together, every moment of it.

With much love. In 2010, Namaste.

This is the first year in a long time (20+ years?) I have not made any resolutions or plans for the coming year. I did think about it but not for long as it just didn't feel right.

It's a little unusual because I like to plan, make lists and work to them - makes my Virgo side happy!

I feel good about the coming year though.

"It’s clad in purple mist, my land,
In regal robe it is apparellèd,
A crown is set upon its head,
And on its breast a golden band—
    Land, ho! land. "

To counter the stance of redbear, not making a resolution for the first time in a long time, I have made a couple of resolutions for 2010 for the first time. 2009 saw a lot of change in my life and my way of looking at things. In prior years I never made any resolution because, to be quite frank, I never believed in my own ability to follow through with anything so I never saw the point in wasting my time. My problems would just get swept under the rug and, despite the fact some of them were blatantly obvious, I felt if I didn't acknowledge them, nobody else would either. In 2010 I will participate in some form of physical fitness at least 4 days a week and I will put aside at least 15 minutes every day for meditation. I'm pretty sure 2010 is gonna be the best year yet.
