Anyone try Yin Yoga?

I was speaking with a new friend about Yoga, and she does Yin Yoga... one I hadn't heard of before. She said it really allows you to feel the energy in your body, like things are changing. Yin Yoga works on the deeper tissues of the body. It does have to do with Yin as in Yin/Yang, where Yang is the muscles, and physical exertion in a more active way, whereas Yin would be the deeper, subtler parts.

I would likely consider this to also be like Eastern / Western Philosophies, if one were to look at it from that perspective. Where Eastern (Yin) would be more about the spiritual, intuitive, internalizing, and Western (Yang) would be more about the physicality, exercise component.

We also discussed how Yoga in the west, at least in the main stream for those who don't practice, see it as physical exercise mainly, just stretching. But when one knows the real purpose of Yoga it is a spiritual, deeper practice.

I remember when I signed up to a gym, the guy asked me what exercises I do, and Yoga was on I mentioned. He said he thought Yoga was great, it was great stretching. I was thinking, well yah, it stretches, sure, but that's not really what it's all about, that just a part of it. Anyway, little rant there, but on to Yin Yoga... Anyone practice this style? It's new to me, so I'd like to learn more about it.
