Hmmm well I guess I'm one of the tainted..... I've read all the books so there are many things that bug me. They did change many things, but the concept is basically the same. There are glaring differences from the books, first Alcide is not so cowardly in the books, he's a protective gentleman, not this whiny wimp. No meth labs in the books and Norton is actually a good guy not a sleaze bucket. I love my gay friends they are amazing, but enough with the boy on boy, I'm not sure what they are doing with this and where it is going. Is this going to lead into something of meaning in the show or is it an excuse to try to be more "risqué". Now the signs of affection don't bother me, I think it's just over kill at this point. And what's with Tara always crying? Where I like some of the twists and turns they've added to the show, I'm not a fan of the good things they left out and how they twisted some of the other things.
I'm interested to see how they are going to play out the story line with Sookie and Eric and if they will stick to that general idea of the books. I thought I was the only one that wasn't impressed with the way this season was going, from what I've read on other boards they feeling is mutual. It seems that this season seems to be missing something...... the episodes are a bit on the dry side... with only 2 more shows to go and there being still soooo much more to touch on, I don't know.... It seems that the season matches the following book (there are 10) I'm just typing out loud now. I also don't like this 8 month waiting period between seasons, it seems to be a trend with HBO that I'm not fond of.
What's with all the drug use? I also really hope that they show how there is a huge gap between Voodoo, black magic and Wiccans. Meaning that they are not to be confused with each other. That's all the Wiccan community needs is more misunderstanding. Sorry for sounding so negative, I know it may be hard to believe that I actually to watch and enjoy the show, I think I liked it better before I read the books. Now that I have it's just way too easy to point out the glaring differences. And sadly the absence of some characters that I really liked in the books. I also preferred the way Claudine appeared in the book, and not introduced in this fae altered state.
The only way a vamp could get to the fae world would be to feast on Sookie and I believe as long as Bill doesn't let on to the other's he's been there, they are pretty safe. Oh but I do love some of the lines in TB, "blah blah Vampire emergency blah" lmao Or Sookies reaction to finding out she's fae. I do enjoy the dialogue and the one liners.
