Anyone watch True Blood. The latest episode I watched tonight was really interesting... for those of you who want to watch but aren't up to date with the latest, please note this will contain spoilers.

Ok, so Sookie... we know what she is now. So the Fae were nearly all wiped out by the vampires... or else they were, I'm not completely sure as Sookie and Bill entered a mystical world where the Fae (Fairies) reside. Does this mean the vampires will start slipping between the worlds and kill the Fae that remain - as they do have delicious blood apparently why the vampires couldn't resist.

Has anyone else noticed this season is so Bloody! I know, True Blood, but the other seasons didn't seem to be this bloody.

A lot happened this episode! So Much I may have to watch it again. It was really good.

It was shocking what Russel did, as shocking as the last episode! Killing that hooker to imagine himself saying goodbye to Talbot! So weird.

Lafayette and Jesus went on a trip and got totally into connecting with dancing images of deities like the virgin mary on Lafayette's mantle, then progressively saw some voodoo of Jesus' grandfather and lafayette's mother and grandmother doing witchcraft rituals and developed into darker places.

The new waitress is Wiccan - should be interesting.

Lots of ritual and magic in this episode too. So much happened it's almost like the last few shows of a season, but I think there are many more to come. I can't recall how many are in a season.

This episode I thought would be boring when I saw the head vampire smoothing things over on tv about Russell ripping out that newscasters spine live on the air last week. I really wanted to see what that would lead to the public wanting to kill the vampires but she seems smart and able to control the media enough to calm people down.

I'm going to have to watch it again, so much more happened in just one hour! This episode was so good! So many things came up, and is building the foundation for amazingly interesting future episodes.

Hmmm well I guess I'm one of the tainted..... I've read all the books so there are many things that bug me. They did change many things, but the concept is basically the same. There are glaring differences from the books, first Alcide is not so cowardly in the books, he's a protective gentleman, not this whiny wimp. No meth labs in the books and Norton is actually a good guy not a sleaze bucket. I love my gay friends they are amazing, but enough with the boy on boy, I'm not sure what they are doing with this and where it is going. Is this going to lead into something of meaning in the show or is it an excuse to try to be more "risqué". Now the signs of affection don't bother me, I think it's just over kill at this point. And what's with Tara always crying? Where I like some of the twists and turns they've added to the show, I'm not a fan of the good things they left out and how they twisted some of the other things.

I'm interested to see how they are going to play out the story line with Sookie and Eric and if they will stick to that general idea of the books. I thought I was the only one that wasn't impressed with the way this season was going, from what I've read on other boards they feeling is mutual. It seems that this season seems to be missing something...... the episodes are a bit on the dry side... with only 2 more shows to go and there being still soooo much more to touch on, I don't know.... It seems that the season matches the following book (there are 10) I'm just typing out loud now . I also don't like this 8 month waiting period between seasons, it seems to be a trend with HBO that I'm not fond of.

What's with all the drug use? I also really hope that they show how there is a huge gap between Voodoo, black magic and Wiccans. Meaning that they are not to be confused with each other. That's all the Wiccan community needs is more misunderstanding. Sorry for sounding so negative, I know it may be hard to believe that I actually to watch and enjoy the show, I think I liked it better before I read the books. Now that I have it's just way too easy to point out the glaring differences. And sadly the absence of some characters that I really liked in the books. I also preferred the way Claudine appeared in the book, and not introduced in this fae altered state.

The only way a vamp could get to the fae world would be to feast on Sookie and I believe as long as Bill doesn't let on to the other's he's been there, they are pretty safe. Oh but I do love some of the lines in TB, "blah blah Vampire emergency blah" lmao Or Sookies reaction to finding out she's fae. I do enjoy the dialogue and the one liners.

Ok I couldn't read your post because I'm afraid you're going to give away some things I haven't seen yet... Are there any spoilers in your post or is it safe to read?

I was thinking about True Blood after watching it and although I don't watch other Vampire shows on tv these days (there seem to be so many now), I have to say True Blood is my favorite from what little I have seen.

I've seen the first movie of Twilight, and was confused about why it's so popular. I thought it was boring and with all the hype, it didn't meet my expectations.

I saw half an episode of another popular vampire show on tv these days that people really like (can't recall the name right now, I think Vampire Chronicles or something like that), and it seemed boring. I like True Blood because it's very Adult oriented and with HBO there are no holds barred so they go all out without a problem.

No spoilers in my most that I can think of, just comparisons to what you've seen.

Twilight, now you see, I didn't get the hype at first either........ or the appeal. I thought one episode of TB had more bite to it then both movies combined.

But then I watched it again, not something I would normally do but the pvr just started it again. I was having this conversation with someone and said I don't understand what it is about Twilight that I like so much. It's really simple... And then it hit me, it's simple love story that I enjoy. No complications, it's what love should be and was once long ago. What I mean is that now a day’s everyone rushes into relationships, they don't take their time to develop and unfold. It's like fast food versus a seven course meal in a fancy dining room. what people are poking fun of like how they haven't kissed because this is "teenage saga" is actually false. It's actually the courtship of mature and true love. Now a day’s people think nothing of jumping into bed on the first date, or going to third base is not "sex". So if you look at it in this light, you'll see the maturity in it. After all don't forget Edward is 109 yrs old, so his style of courtship would be reflective of that era as well. Yes, it's slower than a TB episode, but maybe watching it with a fresh perspective may alter ones original thoughts as it did mine.

only 2 more shows to go! I thought the seasons were short but couldn't remember from last year. I asked someone and they said 18 episodes and I was excited there would be so much more, but only 2 more ughh!

Ok there's something I don't understand about the vampire blood. Take a little bit, you get totally high and out of it like on acid, drink a whole bunch when you're nearly dead and you come back to life feeling good but not totally wacked out? Wouldn't drinking so much make your brain go into overdrive and you'd just pass out or something?

When I heard the word "Wicca" in the show, I was so happy. Since the show is so mainstream I thought it was great to hear it said to all the viewers. But yah, many people will likely think it's dark, as they already do, but she is a healer as she mentioned. She's way to nosy for me! I would get so annoyed with her busy-body behaviour.

I wonder if many men who like the show get uncomfortable watching it with all the gay stuff going on.

Tara, she's crying a lot yah. She seems so traumatized by everything going on in her life. I would be traumatized if I had that creepy vampire kidnap me too! She's such a tough cookie, but I guess we are seeing her vulnerability coming out.

I have absolutely loved this show, and especially this season! I do think Lafayette's mom has already alluded to what his journey will hold. Loved his visions with Jesus. Would love to see Jesus as a regular. OMG, he brings great energy is is very easy on the eyes if I may say ol

I have heard that the books are very different than the show. It is more fair to say the show is inspired by the books, rather than an adaption.

Twilight strikes me as for younger people. The author of the Twilight series has said that he Mormon faith guided her writing. It is evident in the story lines to me. Alan Ball is clearly more open to other kinds of spirituality. I love it!

Sookie being a fairy will be interesting. He background is all light. Vampires represent the dark. Interesting how they are drawn to each other. should provide some nice symbolic content to consider.

side note- in real life, sookie and bill recently got married!

Speaking of sookie! I'm not sure I like Anna Paquin's acting. I do really like the character, but something feels off for some reason, like this constant confusion and straining to get her point across. I remember her from X-men, but don't recall her acting in that. I am not so sure. Maybe it's just the way the character is meant to be played?

I didn't know that her Mormon faith had influence on her writting style. Interesting...... I still enjoy it and it reminds me of days of ole....

Yes, Jesus is very easy on the eyes! Yum! LOL Yes, I think they just go married! I know that they were engaged. No wonder they have such great chemistry

I also didn't feel that she was cast properly for this part.... But with that said she grown on me as Sookie, I just wish she'd fix the gap in her front teeth.

And yes the vamp blood thing, I often wondered about that myself too. I remember in earlier seasons that Lafayette told Jason that he needs to do little bits at a time, the drop on the tissue..... and how too much can make you crazy. Yet when you're dying it's a life force. But then when the Were's were consuming it they didn't go made, just high..... I wonder if that will be explained later on...

Oh and Lafayettes mother, I have often wondered if she really is crazy....... I'd like to know her story.

What did you all think of Sam's background? I'm not sure if I liked that myself, I liked his good guy persona.

Oh yah, finding out about Sam's background was definitely interesting. I hadn't suspected in the least, but what I really love is that anything is up for grabs when it comes to someone's past, which can really create a new dynamic. I liked learning more about Eric's past a few weeks ago.

I wonder if the jewelery stuff Sam was into will come back to haunt him. Like I said, I do have to re-watch that episode because my dog was playing and a little distracting. I want to make sure I get all the details before next week's episode. I know it was an accident about killing that girl. Sam's brother I can't stand, what an ass! He was such an innocent character a few years ago in Prison Break. With Sam's family roots, it seems there isn't so much innocence in his blood, so it will be interesting to see how his story develops about not being such a goody-two-shoes.

So Sookie went to fairyland after all that, I was wondering if there was a vampire watching in the shadows.

Jesus is a witch, that's pretty cool, Lafayette was happy. I guess Lafayette had to much V and is having flashbacks?

Tara, I hope she comes back. So funny when she picked up the scissors I thought "She's going to cut her hair" not kill herself like one would assume, and she did.

I don't get why Bill thought Eric wouldn't be able to get out of a little bit of wet concrete.

Anyhow, I can't believe this season is over. I'm disappointed.
