Knowledge, Intellect, Messenger, Hermetic Gemini the snake, Garden of Eden?

I've always been fascinated by the symbolism of the Garden of Eden, the tree of good and evil and the tree of Life.

I was watching Casino (great movie by Martin Scorcese by the way). And Sharon Stone's character said something that sparked my interest and quickened my curiosity once again on the timeless symbolism of the garden of Eden.

    I should've never married him.
    He's a Gemini.

    Triple Gemini. Duality.

Gemini is the snake, you know.
    You can't trust a snake.

What do you think of the connection between the symbolism of the Garden of Eden's Snake and Gemini's symbolism? Gemini has really has a lot to do with communication, and the snake symbolized knowledge, opening the portal of self-awareness. The twins, is a splitting of the self, and thus seeing the self as the other, thus ego, seeing the separateness.

Gemini is the twins, so maybe duality, the lovers card in tarot, which some decks depict as the garden of eden.
the two headed eagle=janus=phoenix=wisdom, spiritual alchemy.
Mercury rules gemini the messanger as you have pointed out.
The cadeus is held by mercury, which has two snakes.

    maybe learn something.

the lies about eden are manyfold
    lucifer the serpent is jesuschrist
the whole book is one of duality
    breaking separating into quantum
    parts, divide and conquer
    mind control

mind control which appears to have worked quite well
on someone who would judge ppl based on their astrology sign
sharon stone ... do you think you could trust her ?

Stone married television producer Michael Greenburg in 1984 on the set of The Vegas Strip War, a TV movie he produced and she starred in. The couple separated three years later, and their divorce was finalized in 1990.[42]
On February 14, 1998, Stone married Phil Bronstein, executive editor of the San Francisco Examiner and later San Francisco Chronicle. Stone and Bronstein were divorced in January 2004. They have an adopted son named Roan Joseph Bronstein, born on May 22, 2000. Stone adopted her second son, Laird Vonne Stone on May 7, 2005. On June 28, 2006, Stone adopted her third son, Quinn Kelly Stone.
In 2005, during a television interview for her movie Basic Instinct 2, Stone hinted an interest in bisexuality, stating "Middle age is an open-minded period".

she is born in march ...
but can you trust her ?

    serpent means 'wiseone' wisdom
eve chose the serpent over her husband ... was SHE a gemini too ?
granted snakes are slithery, sneaky, and poisonous ... but the symbolism
is one of dna as much as anything

    the dna of god, jesuschrist
    the holygrail
    the forbiddenfruit of eternal life
let us cut off man from the tree of life [god dna]
    now knowing good/evil
paradox lest he live forever [and rival us]

eve went to hell for having lucifer's children
    adam for following a woman

but the template of mind control in the story
is much more important that quivelling over birth signs
you are lost in the very matrix you are examining

    thats no way out
oneness is the marriage of both hemispheres of the mind
there is not two sides to a coin there are 3 including the edge
    and the coin is one

    there is never 2 choices
there is always at least 4
    do you know this ?

This is something I hear people say all of the time Geminiís are two faced, and I really never thought about it at first, but when you take the time to think about it, Geminiís represents the child in all of us.

I have known allot of Geminiís, and if you really get to know them their duality is actually an innocent behavior pattern, itís all part of their personality.

With Mercury as there ruler communication is one of the Geminiís well known attributes, as well as getting attached to new interests before mastering the last one. Geminiís are known to be friends with you as well as your enemyís perhaps this netural attribute within the personality of the Gemini is something over looked, and people ignorantly look at Geminiís as back stabbers.

Geminiís are known to get easily attached to their interests, and just as fast drop them with out a thought, and I assume when they do this to people this is where the idea of Gemini's are being unfaithful comes from. I have known a few Geminiís to be like this as well, but if you question them about this they may just simply tell you that they are board. This behavior is just why Geminiís are known to be the jack of all trades, but master of none.

Gemini also has a symbolic understanding towards the Anima, and the Animus within the male and female psych. They are like the sun and the moon which are archetypical to the conscious, and the subconscious mind in all of humanity.

In Chinese Astrology the snake is very comparable to Taurus in Western Astrology, and Gemini is comparable to the Horse.

    6overnment is two words [govern & ment] govern=control, ment/mente/mental=mind = mind control
7he government of 6od is control of the mind [psyche=soul in 6reek] in the cause of love

Very interesting, and it makes allot of sense.

The snake is symbolic representing the devil in all of humanity, in the illustration of the loverís card we see it behind Eve wrapped around the tree of knowledge. When we compare it to the anima the male psych we are to understand it as the mothers influence, or Venus.

And Adam, the influence on the right he is the father archetype the animus, or the Mars influence. The burning tree behind him with the 12 flames represents the astrological influences that shapes humanity, and builds civilizations.

    Metaphorically speakingÖ.

Again, I see the burning tree symbolically representing the divine that has left Adam after he obeyed Eve who took the snakes advice. The snake teaches us that we have free will, it wraps around the tree of knowledge expressing wisdom through the 12 Zodiac signs which are expansions of consciousness.

He represents the duality in all people, and the male ego...

When reading this again, I thought about the story of how Prometheus stole fire from Zuse, and gave it to the people. To the Gods he did wrong, and was perhaps cursed, but to the people he was a hero. Some see him as an unfaithful warrior, and others perceive see him as an honorable faithful leader.

Qabalah, Tree of Life, Sacred Geometry Re: Gemini the snake, Garden of Eden?

interesting post the snake on the tree is much like the lightening flash ascending or desceding on the tree, a snake undulates, meaning wavy transmission of energy, the kundalini.
In this way the snake is more of scorpio energy: 2the snake/dragon, 3phoenix/eagle and 1scorpion represents stages of evolution upwards
the water snake can also go on land/earth the water representing the unconcious pluto and the astral waters, when combined with air aquarius/eagle we get the transmission of energy air on water wavy lines.
but also the destructive mars energy as in the tower but fertile as the wand and creative in spring....

if you think of the egyptian headpeices the winged snake is on the third eye.. the snake is eaten by the deer in celtic mythology shedding its skin and renewing the earth like the ouroborus a sign of wisdom and the sun renewing the earth. The leo letter is teth snake.

    Thanks Brifae, and your rightÖ

Scorpio energy is transformative, feminine, and ruled by Mars, the warrior planet, and Pluto the planet of transformation. Scorpio also rules the reproductive organs, and excretory system, and is the sign that dives into the deepest mysteries.

We also see the lightning flash in the Tower that has significant meaning to the destructive Mars energy, or misapplied sexual energies that may be what hinders the creative flow of energy that we receive from Atziluth/spirit world. The metaphor of the tree is a means, a method, a map, and mechanism for assisting the attainment of the single objective to all creeds, systems, Mysteries, and Religions.

The tree symbolically takes on the aspects of the living God, its the mystical union of humanity, and divinity in the Great Atonement.

I dont think Gemini is evil because they symbolizes snakes , after all not all snakes are evil. And philosophically speaking the serpent was never mentioned to be evil in the bible.
