So I was at the library and saw this at the end of a shelf so picked it up, it's called Masonry Unmasked: An insider reveals the Secrets of the Lodge.

I didn't look into it much, just picked it up and figured I'd learn what it was about when I got it home. It appears to be very biased in that it's written by a catholic who was a member of a Lodge then realized it wasn't for him. I'm not sure how much truth there will be or not, as the back says:

Now, former Freemason, Shriner, and Lodge Officer John Salza reveals the astounding truths about what's really going on behind the Lodge door. For the first time, get a surprising, inside look at the group's controversial rituals, practices, and philosophies from one of their own - secretes sworn to be upheld under the threat of death.

Essential for anyone affiliated with or or considering the Lodge, their families, and their friends, this eye-opening book presents evidence on:
    • The deception in recruitment, initiation and covenant oaths
    • The problematic ideology of Freemasonry and relativism
    • How Masonic spiritual beliefs contradict Ctholicism in particular - and Christianity in general
    • Masoni conspiracies in the judicial system, schools, and government
    • And more!

Complete with a discussion of symbolism, relevant Church documents, papal decrees, extensive references, and a comprehesive glossary, Masonry Unmasked is the definitive resource for understanding American Freemasonry from a Catholic perspective.
I leafed through it quickly and saw there are prayers to turn people away from Freemasonry and toward Jesus, and there's a quote at the beginning...

"We wish it to be your rule first of all to tear away the mask of Freemasonry, and to let it be seen as it really is. - Pople Leo XIII

I will go through it, see what it's all about and report. After seeing some of what's in it I suspect it will mainly be propaganda like or something, but who knows, it may be interesting, we'll see. Anyone else read this?

    Re: Masonry Unmasked

Jesus said, "Seek and you will find. Yet, what you asked me about in former times and which I did not tell you then, now I do desire to tell, but you do not inquire after it."

Catholicism has ever sought to crush Freemasonry. Each time Freemasonry has evaded it.

Jesus said, "A city being built on a high mountain and fortified cannot fall, nor can it be hidden."

Freemason's openly accept all men as equals and Brothers in the Light.

His disciples said to him, "Show us the place where you are, since it is necessary for us to seek it."
He said to them, "Whoever has ears, let him hear. There is light within a man of light, and he lights up the whole world. If he does not shine, he is darkness."

Catholicism is incredibly divisive by its very nature, and teaches dogma and superstition. Freemasonry is embracing in nature and teaches Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty through pure spirituality. Catholicism fears that which it does not understand, so it seeks to crush it out of existence.

Jesus said, "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
    "

In the end the decision belongs to God.

He said, "There was a good man who owned a vineyard. He leased it to tenant farmers so that they might work it and he might collect the produce from them. He sent his servant so that the tenants might give him the produce of the vineyard. They seized his servant and beat him, all but killing him. The servant went back and told his master. The master said, 'Perhaps he did not recognize them.' He sent another servant. The tenants beat this one as well. Then the owner sent his son and said, 'Perhaps they will show respect to my son.' Because the tenants knew that it was he who was the heir to the vineyard, they seized him and killed him. Let him who has ears hear."

Let the Father decide who has walked a straighter path...

I just started reading it, and will report when I get into it more, but one thing I found really strange was that he said he was initiated in June 1996, then Fellowcraft in September, then Master Mason in October. By November 1996 he had attained 32nd degree. All I can wonder is, "Is it really that fast?" Doesn't make sense, but maybe it is so? I have no idea.

This guy was a lawyer and from what I've read so far it seems like he had a strong Catholic background to begin with, that he even asked superiors in the church if it was ok for him to be a member of the Freemason lodge and they said it was fine. He started to investigate Christian arguments against Freemasonry so he could answer questions to Christian lodge members if they should come up. It seems then that he became obsessed with finding Christian theologians to tell him Christianity was against Freemasonry, even though he said he was trying to "prove that Freemasonry was OK for him". He even says he was "desperate" for an answer. Eventually he came to the conclusion through studying his churches teachings was that his what his Masonic brothers had taught him about the churches position on Masonry was inaccurate. The book will go into how he went from an academic point of view of trying to balance the two, to his personal point of view he discovered along the way. I have the suspicion it's actually not that he wanted to prove Freemasonry was ok for him, but the other way around from the way he's writing.

He's discussing the history now, so it should be interesting... hopefully not too biased though to lose historical facts along the way. I will let you know what I come across.

Here again is an example of up vs. down.

Remember, Catholicism follows the chakra system from the crown to the base.
While Masonry follows the traditional Hindu or alchemy system from the base to the crown.

The problem is that those who begin with one system then change mid-stream suffer greatly!!!

Top down or what I call Virgin religions are all about creating a "baby."
Bottom up or what I call Apprentice religion are all about creating emptiness and shedding the ego.

So what happens when someone has a baby in utero and the energies are changed to kill all that you used to be? You have a major psychological mess on your hands. The Greeks used the term r@pe for this situation. Trust me that is exactly how it feels, complete with all the psychological issues and damage. Historically women went crazy after being initiated. There is documentation of this fact all the way back 3000 years in the Taoist tradition. Which is why women historically were not allowed to join the ministry or Masonry. While I would like to think it was done as a safeguard to the psychological wellbeing of womankind and the creative mindset, history tells us that those who can't survive initiation are deemed spiritually retarded.

Those who begin with alchemy and then change to the Virgin method of receiving Grace, are annihilated. Totally washed out - emasculated. This is the lesson to be gained from Plato's parable of Atlantis.

All spiritual teachers tell us to complete the path we are on. Don't mix and match systems or practices. The reason is that serious psychological damage (sometimes irreversible damage) and the insatiable desire to kill the offending party is the result.

Both systems are right when administered by practiced professionals to the persons of the corresponding mindsets. Both systems can kill or damage those who are of the opposite mindset.

So, this guy gets burned and then turns around and labels the offending system as wrong. Goes on a crusade to wipe the offending hypocrisy off the face of the map.

    Here we go again!

Also, Masonry requires a belief in a God. This requirement bans the eastern traditions such as Buddhism, Taoism, and Zen from membership. This is a good thing because all these religions are Virgin or Grace-based religions. So, they too would be harmed in the same way as a Catholic by joining an alchemy or Passion-based group.

Know Thyself. Understand and Respect thy spiritual opposite.

I think you are wrong in this, operations of qaballistic cross and middle pillar are crown to base in ceremonial magic, whereas eastern practice is root up.

Brifae, thanks for bring this up.
I understand the confusion. Complete enlightenment requires that the person follow the path both up and down. Otherwise you are only half way home or half baked. It is these half way home people, like the guy who wrote this book, who think that everyone should follow the way they went that create the most trouble in the world.

In another forum a woman posted that her guru flat out told her that she would never become enlightened unless she abandoned her children and focused on spiritual practices. Of course she could not do that, and now feels that spirituality is a hopeless pursuit. Not to mention a bit angry that she was basically kicked out of the ashram. Obviously this dude does not know about the left path, so he considers everyone who does not follow the right path, hopeless or spiritually retarded. That just infuriates me!!!!

The Kabbalah cross and middle pillar practices are esoteric. They are the "second leg" of the journey. A person has to be accepted into these practices, because it is unwise and psychologically damaging to take that journey until you have fully completed the exoteric or outer more common way.

Here is the kicker. Some religions consider the top down way as esoteric and others consider the bottom up way as esoteric. Each personality must walk these two paths in the correct order for their personality to have a beneficial spiritual experience.

So, I will make it a little clearer.

Remember, Catholicism follows the chakra system from the crown to the base, as the exoteric or first leg of the spiritual journey. Once you have been transfigured or have an immaculate conception then you have a purpose in life and the kundalini rises up to give you the power to climb up the mountain to complete it.

While Masonry follows the traditional Hindu or alchemy system from the base to the crown, as the exoteric or first leg of the spiritual journey. Once you have emptied the soul of all ego then you are ready to receive the light or Grace which creates the Holy Grail and ultimately the Cosmic Egg.

I understand what you are saying in terms of philosophy and like very much the above description, however I still disagree, catholicism being highly pagan, and the line blurs between catholicism and egyptian path=golden dawn, masonry etc, Which is used and sort of chicken and egg when you look at black mass/ witches sabbat, and ceremonial magic and gnosticism, could not the power rise from the botttom red dragon and meet the white dragon at the top at the same time?

As far as I know, it can be done in one day, or one month. A year or two. They advise to take it a little slow though, but it's up to you.

    Well, brifae, good question.

I don't think that it is possible for both energies to run simultaneously. It would be like mixing ammonia and bleach. A very toxic mixture to say the least. Every spiritual system I have studied has an exoteric and esoteric path. In other words, the paths are mutually exclusive and are traversed one at a time. I can only assume that time and experimentation taught the ancient masters that this is the safest way to wholeness or Holiness.

I have personally experienced the psychological and physical horrors of "changing horses mid-stream." It has taken 8 years to clean up that mess and move to a place of understanding.

Yet, Logic still has to sit on my Fury at times. I intellectually know better, but sometimes my emotions get out of hand and I just can't do better. So, for me it is important to focus this energy on educating everyone on the benefits and dangers of playing with both fire/kundalini/red dragon and water/grace/white dragon. Both powers kill or heal depending on the situation and the personality type of the initiate.

Once both paths have been followed to their ends, there is no path. There is no duality. Everything is just ONE. This is what I got a glimpse of 8 years ago. My Sufi initiation killed all that.

Hopefully, I will be able to find it again someday. Until then I must educate people on these dangers, so they don't continue to destroy each other's souls, which then creates war, strife, and chaos in the world.
