Flowers for your sacred space

I have a bunch of plants on my altar and I've been getting hyacinths. I am addicted to the smell. They smell like lilac and I swear the fragrance goes deep in your soul.

I think plants on an altar are a must, they make it more alive and really full of energy and of course, looks great. The white ones are really fragrant, as well as the purple ones.

The green leaves last longer than the flowers. They're not expensive at all either.

I love flowers at the alter especially spiring and midsummer, and of the last roses of fall.
The goddess especially loves flowers.

I'm going to check out what's out this weekend at the stores to see what I'd like to have.

I saw a bunch this weekend but with the poor weather I wasn't motivated to get anything.

I do have a rosemary plant which I managed to keep alive all winter and is doing great still. It's about 3 feet tall now. I'm considering transplanting it into a larger pot, but hesitating because sometimes when I transplant plants they end up dying. I want to see how large I can get this one to grow.

I have it on my altar space and it gets lots of sun. It's flowered a few times this winter and is flowering again now.

Thanks brifae. My thumb is light green, I want it to get much darker Yes it's not flowering abundantly but I do get about 5-6 flowers popping out together at one time when it does decide to flower. I was quite surprised to see flowers in the winter.

I need to figure out the gentlest way to replant without shocking it.

I will be using fresh flowers and egg and white alter cloth with the rune dagaz, for sun and spring goddess this year for ostara eostre, easter

Soak the plant in water for an hour before you transplant. If it is small enough, put it in the sink and let it drink its fill. The wetter it is the less likely air can attach to the roots as you are pulling it out of the old pot.

Then when you put into the new pot and cover it with new dirt make sure you pat it firmly into the new earth and again water well. That squeezes out all the air bubbles that can damage the roots.

I love it when my forest comes in for the winter. It will be sad when my trees make their migration back outside in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the advice. Although still a bit nervous, I think I will try the transplant this week if it is warm and sunny out. I figure if I give it sun to help it thrive better during the transition.

I should fix up my altar a bit and give it a bit of easter inspiration as well.

Too much sun stresses a newly repotted plant. That plant just had the equivalent of surgery. So, it should be sheltered for at least a week after a transplant. I recommend filtered morning light.

When I move my trees outside, I have to do it in stages so they don't get sunburns. First they go out to a fully shaded area. Then in 4 or 5 days they move to a partial sun/shade area. Only after 2 full weeks of being outside do I put them in full sun.
