Reiki for Pets?

What kind of responses can you expect from pets if you do reiki on them?

Do you think pets can see the symbols, or mainly feel the energy?

When I do reiki I tend to visualize. Are pets sensitive to this?

If you do reiki on a pet that isn't needing healing, what does it do? Does it create a stronger intuitive connection?

You can do it like a human but keep it simple, thwy get confused and know something has changed and can stress them out, i heard brown and using more earthy things on them can help, correspondances and the like.

should it be done when they are alert, or asleep, and if it's not intended for healing, what would the intention be? Does reiki hold intentions that go beyond healing? I think of reiki as magical energy. Want to get back into it, feels right. It's been quite some time.

What about energy clearing of a space or raising the energy to a higher vibration? Isn't that the primary act of what's happening and the healing is on type of outcome that occurs because of the presence of a higher vibration?

I haven't ever specifically studied Reiki or had a treatment, but I am very interested in it and other types of energy healing. I am currently studying Chinese medicine and I am a practitioner of Qi Gong and internal martial arts and meditation and I feel that these practices are related on some level to Reiki.

As I said I havent ever studied Reiki, but i do frequently use what I know of the nature of qi or ki to do energy projection type work with my pets. It is my experience that we all have some healing to do even if it isn't acute or chronic per se, so I wouldn't worry too much as long as you can maintain the neutral space of infinite possibility while doing the work.

When ever I work with my pets (dog and cats) the effect always seems to be calming, even if they are all wound up about something exciting, they settle very quickly. I feel that this sort of non-verbal connection definitely strengthens the intuitive bond between my pets and I.

Of course spending time in a healthy environment is going to be more beneficial to healthy growth and development, but i feel it is especially important and empowering for intentional healing to take place somewhere that has is energetically "clean".

As far as whether or not healing is the result of being in the presence of higher or lower or more subtle energetic frequencies, or the occurrence/ manifestation of those frequencies is the result of the healing/ intention that is taking, I am not sure I can say.

I feel they are related to. Although I am certainly no expert on chi kung (obviously!), from what little I do understand it seems that qi is more directed with the persons intent and worked with in that way, whereas reiki is a bit more about letting go of our own intentions and trusting the universal energy will do as it intends.

When you do flow energy to your pets, do you touch them or do "distance" reiki, without touching them?

i will draws symbols over them and then beam energy from my palm hovering on top, irritates a cat less, i dont know about other animals. I was going to say qi gong is more about directing energy clearing etc, reiki is passive and i havent heard of that as much,but people are inventing new symbols and it is related however i also do not know alot about either practice.

Hey guys, very interesting. I'm not sure what constitutes distance here, but I never get further than a foot or two. sometimes I will feel draw to use touch as well all while maintaining the energy or qi transmission intent.

I think what you said about qi gong being directed more with the persons intent is accurate to a point. In qi gong we say "where the mind goes the qi follows", and in the beginning the intention is developed to allow qi to be directed more easily. This involves refining ones mind and intuition, and eventually the "emotional", "unnatural", or "acquired" mind is dissolved leaving the "natural", "wisdom", "universal", or "Dao" Mind. Here one realizes that all thought and intention is (and always has been) in perfect harmony with universal intent or energy, and that you, all your thought, and all your energy and intention is a part of that, and through you universal consciousness is always present.
