Methods of projecting Reiki energy

Usually reiki seems to be sent from the Crown down through the hands to direct it on the subject.

However, is that it, or can reiki be sent out of other parts of the body, say for example the eyes or from chakras?

Interesting question, which goes straight to the heart of the question "What is Reiki?"

Personally, I have often wondered if the modern Reiki movement isn't too prescriptive. It appears that the concept, like many others, has been hijacked for profit. Yes, I know the history, the why's and whereofs... but it feels disingenuous, somehow, when Reiki is only available through a 'for profit' transaction.

If it's true that we can all access this form of energy and utilise it for healing, why the need to draw it through the crown, learn culturally alien symbols, release it through the hands at all?

Isn't the parent, rushing to pick up the sobbing child, pushing out the same 'stuff', direct, undiluted and straight from the heart chakra?

Reiki is a great way to heal yourself and others. Its seeking energy from the universe to imbibe positive energy into you. It’s a very strong technique and you must have proper training before entering into it. Its works great.

ahh the crown is used but not so much as the solar plexus, chi storage central, the heart/tifareth is the navel of the tree...... Start with solar belly breathing in a channel of light, and expanding your solar aura.

My interpretation is that the solar plexus is the center of Power/Passion/Kundalini. While the heart, like Brifae says, is the center of Love/Grace/Light. Reiki uses the power of Grace to heal or calm. Grace is also known in mystical texts as Peace. I interpret Jesus' saying, "I give you my Peace" as the working of Reiki.

However like Kundalini, an overabundance of Grace in the system can kill or harm. The Ark of the Covenant, Thor's Hammer, and Zeus' lightening bolt are all instruments of Grace. They struck down all those who were not trained in the Power of Grace. This is why all energy practitioners must be fully trained. Just as medical drugs can both kill & heal, this is also true of the dual or twin energies.

Health is a balance of the dual energies; Passion & Grace.
