According to the news people are fleeing Rome due to a prediction made long ago about an Earthquake in Rome set for today by Raffaele Bendandi.

Bendandi predicted a previous earthquake in January 1924, he was 2 days off but since then some have taken him seriously.

The earthquake prediction is related to the cosmology of the planets where Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter are conjunct in Aries at 24 degrees. Mars is also nearby but is at 0 degrees in Taurus. Bendandi believed the placement of the Planets, Moon and Sun influenced earthquakes.

The planets can be seen in the sky at sunrise.



The Sun is in Taurus and squares the Moon, and the Moon is in Leo (will be in Virgo later in the day) and trines Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter in Aries; the Moon also trines Mars in Taurus.

There have been earthquakes in Italy today, at least 22 at this time, but none in Rome.

Berdandi was apparently a self-taught seismologist. He died in 1979.

I couldn't find a specific date where he made this prediction, but read that he destroyed a lot of his work before his death.

Some are skeptical, and waiting for the day to pass as any other, but hundreds of thousands of people aren't taking it so lightly and are vacating Rome and not showing up to work today.

So what do you think of the conjunction? Is there any merit of Earthquakes and Astrology? I'm not sure why Rome specifically though.
