The story of Adam and Eve is probably one of the most well known stories ever told. The symbolism and myth goes deep in meaning and metaphor in the tree of good and evil and the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden..

Here is an entertaining approach with Johnny Carson and Betty White in the Garden of Eden, a fun way to start it off.

Can you post it. Or at least post a direct link? I would love to see it. I doubt I would be able to find it out in cyberland much less be able to figure out how to download and watch it.

Here is what I posted on another forum concerning Adam & Eve. We shall see how close this comes to the explanations in upcoming course.

Consider that Adam is the animus and Eve is the anima. The garden of Eden is the inner sanctum. Adam is made from the breath of God or Grace. Sometimes referred to as the "Kiss of God." The snake represents the upsurge of Passion or Kundalini. However, neither Adam or Eve have completed strengthening their primary characteristics. So, instead of being enlightened, they have caused a mixing of matter and anti-matter which causes Eden to be annihilated and the couple to be thrown out. In order for Adam/animus to find salvation, He must work for his bread(Grace). Her salvation is not found in the same way that Adam does, she is warned that she will suffer great pains of child birth(Killing ego, or being initiated)

This is also the journey from birth to adulthood. We are born whole and completely dependent upon our parents for care and support. When proper parenting occurs, this is a time of being in Eden. All is provided for us and we are learning and naming all the things around us. Then we prefer a side of the psyche, which separates the anima and animus. By the age of 1 year it is clear if the personality will be outgoing and adventurous or quiet and cautious. By the age of 7 we have fully differentiated and set the favored side of the psyche. In the ancient cultures, initiation took place around the age of 12. At that time boys became men and girls were eligible for marriage. They are forced out of our parent's care and into adulthood where they must work to eat and survive and/or endure child birth.
    The road runs both ways.

Oh yah sorry, it's the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah course... it's here... You have to sign in to get to it, but it's a free course. I took it in the autumn, as mentioned in another thread but fell behind, Haruth was taking it too, but he too fell behind. I may be able to get to it today, I just have to spend some time offline for a while though, been on for too long, need a breather.

Read an interesting blog today which postulates that the Adam and Eve story is really a story instructing us not to try to judge good and evil.

Consider this, if you were growing knowledge of good and evil, then the fruit you would expect to harvest when the tree is ripe is: Judgement of Good and Evil!

So, this story is not about how man sinned and is forever requiring atonement, this story is actually about how man should not judge each other, which as we all know, leads to violence and death when two men disagree on who is good and who is evil.

The great irony is that this story about not taking judgement (eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil) is used by Judaism, Christianity and Islam as a tool to eat the judgement fruit by judging us all as inherently guilty and requiring atonement.

What are the odds that this is the real, unrecorded reason that Jesus was killed? Basically Jesus could have been saying: Good News, No Atonement! The Rabbis would freak out because that would get in the way of their sacrificial beefsteak.

I do agree with your assessment above, the Serpent is our animal nature. Animals judge themselves important (and therefore good), but an awakened Son of God would realize that is folly, and cease to judge things good and bad, for the Son does not judge, only the Father in Heaven is capable of judging good and evil.

The story of Adam and Eve is a metaphor that has great significant meaning in regards to the union of man and woman. They represent the union of love, friendship, truth, and honor. They represent the higher conscious mind down through the unconscious mind ever deeper into matter. They are the elemental forces of the universe sent into the world through God. They ride on an evolutionary wave of energy from the mind of God out into the Garden of Eden.

When man and woman ate the apple (fruit of knowledge) and realized that they were naked, it had a deep symbolic meaning towards the greater understanding of their union. In my opinion they had sex which resulted in exile. They no longer were virgins, and became mature adults who knew enough to make it on their own. They were leaders, and later became parents, and learned the hard rules of the world through experience.

The Kabbalah teaches: After Adam was expelled from the Garden of Eden the Archangel Ratziel befriended him, and gave Adam a wonderful book full of secrets for guidance. This book was later handed down to Noah where it descended through Abraham, Jacob, Levi, Moses, & Joshua to Solomon who was known to be the king of wisdom.

    This is a valid possibility.

However, there is such thing as beneficial judgement. It is usually referred to as discernment. It is a very smart thing to judge that a car will do damage, if you step out in front of it while it is moving. It is very smart to judge what is poison and what is nutrition.

Another aspect I would like to point out is that the serpent is just another symbol of the sword or Holy Spear, all of which symbolize the energy of Passion or Kundalini. Kundalini or The Holy Spear cuts away ALL that is currently in your life. So even if you have beneficial things in your life, once the serpent or sword appears all that and everything else is cut away. That is why there were cherubs with flaming swords blocking the entrance to Eden. This is why Job looses everything. (IMO The Book of Job is a story of what happens when one experiences a kundalini overload.)

This is why Jesus says something to the effect that even if you have weeds in the field, do not try to cut out or pull up the weeds. When you pull up the weeds, you will also pull up the wheat with it. Wait until the harvest and the weeds will fall away naturally in the milling process.
    The road runs both ways.
