Could Facebook be the Mark of the Beast?

I haven't had a facebook account for a long time, a couple years I think by now. I detest it.

Now that facebook has acquired Instagram for $1Billion here's a funny video on the subject.



Some wonder, why would they spend so much... I think it's strangely sneaky Facebook bought Instagram so soon after Instagram finally became available for Android. Interesting points here on that... http://venturebeat.com/2012/04/09/in...ebook-android/

The comment by Scobelizer below this article has good points about why Facebook would want to do that. I think it was timed so FB could move in on Google's advertising space on Android. It's interesting too that now that Facebook will know what you like "emotionally", which is what they always want to know, they will be able to more accurately advertise to you, so that's worth a lot in potential future revenue. So more people get more closely tracked by Facebook, on a more personal, emotional level... how wonderful.

I've been tempted several times to delete my facebook account over privacy issues. Most anoying is that somethings are never removed form post. The if someone answers a poll taken of Facebook it want to tell you about a friend or family member participated and tries to hook you into taking that poll as well.

Facebook in my opinion is messed up in so many levels.not only the concept of privacy out the window, but just what goes on in the facebook world is all nonsense. I would think it should be to stay in touch with people but thats far from it, people have to announce to facebook what it is that they are doing no matter how unimportant it is. and people gauge their self esteem from how many firends they have or how many likes or whatever. i deleted mine a few months ago and dont miss it at all. i figure if i got people i really care about they can call me and i can call them or go see them in person as reality should be. Facebook is evil, and is bringing humanity in a downward spiral.

I have a Facebook account, but I haven't looked at it for years now. The idea of facebook-like social network seems quite funny to me, but I can't say that it is some sort of evil, mostly cause, among my friends, nobody really makes a big deal out of it, or uses the website to the extreme. It can be quite convenient for contacting friends that live far away. Then, again I still prefer Skype for that reason. I do think, though, that Google is more likely to be the Mark of the Beast. As much as it is useful, and easy to use, it's gotten extremely large, and it does try to lure my privacy out more obviously than Facebook. I remember that when Google bought YouTube, in order to keep my YouTube account I had to get a gmail. That really creeped me out, and I still get frustrated, whenever I think about it.

i think capitalism is.... the internet is a blessing in being able to research and find information...and a curse, in that we can be tracked and targeted....

evolution of a power structure looking to shore up and deepen it's security... capitalism <- everyone feeds into it...and feeds off it for the most part today.

i am right there in it too. content with my items, my lack of effort in reaching out to others.... and the ease of information that flows into my home, and i sacrifice? my privacy and autonomy , like so many others for the 'things' i have. also who knows what else any one of us contributes to the beast of capitalism.
