Crystal Ball Scrying & Divination

I don't have a lot of experience in divination but I definitely feel called to quartz crystal balls. I think my crystal ball likes to be called Espy.

Background:

I've only had Espy for a short time as she was given to me by a new friend (Espy is definitely feminine). The first week or two that I had her she was very cool to the touch and she stayed cool to the touch no matter how long I held her in my hands. Now, when I hold Espy, she gets unusually warm, almost to the point of being hot. Along with the heat she looks like she is pulsating and getting larger right before my eyes. I am seeing it but hardly can believe it.

I know it sounds crazy and weird, but my hope is that someone has more of a clue on why this is happening than I do. Now, I don't have a clue why this is happening or what it signifies but I could use some insight from anyone that wants to throw some light on what it would mean to them......

I keep checking and hoping someone will leave an answer or at least a guess for me about this. I'm totally mystified by this and I am explaining what happened as well as I can. I have not had it happen again since I opened this thread. My crystal ball still gets very warm to the touch but it has not appeared to pulsate again. I was not afraid when this happened, it was more of a feeling of wonderment or disbelief and amazement. I am wondering now if I could have been visualizing the vibrational state of the rock???

I will be patient this time and wait for the right person to feel the calling to come into this threat to enlighten me.

This is fairly common. Particularly if she has been working with someone else. Takes a little time to trust, come to terms with new surroundings, and work out who this stranger is and what does she want?!?

Connection complete! The warmth you feel is the energy of the stone interacting directly with your energy field. It's an interesting exercise to check out what is actually happening physiologically - what appears to be genuine heating of the hand has no physical reality, and is merely (sic) a sensing of the energy connection established with the crystal's devic presence (often referred to as the crystal angel / guardian / etc.).

Ooo. Nice. She is showing you the extent of her auric field which she is comfortable sharing. This will probably extend as you work more with her. For best results, you should practice focussing on this field, rather than the crystal herself. The state of relaxation which you were in when you experienced this is also a clue to the best state to be in when working with her. Images, symbols, 'creatures', etc. are most easily seen in the sphere's auric field, rather than becoming lost in contemplation of the physical aspect. As previously indicated, the field will expand as you work together - think of traditional depictions where the magician is sensing 'around' the crystal with their hands, rather than gazing: it is the crystals auric influence which he is interogating in such instances.

No surprise there. Keep at it. She'll let you in again in her own time. Try using a dark background. I use a black silk laid over the stand before placing the ball on top - that way, the stone pretty much fills the visual field, with no extraneous distraction.

I am wondering now if I could have been visualizing the vibrational state of the rock???

Nice! Now, was that your thought, or a thought which came to you? Can you remember what you were doing when you first had that thought? Were you in Espy's company at the time?

Hmm, I've never heard of the devic presence, good to know. See, told ya I was a newbie... :-)

Thanks, that is helpful to know. My eyes were drawn to the pulsating colors and swirls so I'm thinking it would be hard not to look at it and I might have tried to keep drawing my focus back to the actual crystal. And now that I think of it, you never said anything about the colors. The swirling colors were pink and white. They were just slightly swirled together. To describe the look it would have been much like putting one drop of food coloring into a bowl of water and swirling it around but having it not mix together. I'm sure the colors mean something and would like to know what pink and the white together means if there is anything you know about it....

I was just walking through the room when my attention was drawn to Espy so I had just picked her up and was still standing there just looking at her when it happened. It was totally unexpected as I was not really meditating, I was just standing there looking at her and thinking how pretty she was. No meditation needed apparently.

I was wondering, I usually hold the crystal since it gives such a nice connection feel, do most others set it on the stand and focus that way? I think I will try it on the stand with the black silk to see how that feels. I could also use the black silk over my hands for a more visual field if it feels like I need to hold her to feel the connection.

I do feel sometimes that she calls me and I need to either look at her or pick her up, if that makes sense. I thought I was just obsessing but I'm starting to wonder if there is something more going on.

No shame there. If you want to find more info online, I'd recommend going with "crystal deva", as there are too many off-topic references to crystal guardians out there.

Not something you just come out with, my dear...

The pink can mean all sorts... I think what is important is that you can start to bring your own symbols and meanings to the observations you are making within the crystal. Much of the communication you may get will come in the form of feelings, symbols completely at odds with the apparent topic, and may not come through as direct pictures as in a film strip (though that is possible too - though care needs to be taken as the train crash in the film is unlikely to be a physical rail accident, but should be read as the symbolic meaning in the context of the reading).

Back to pink... wandered off there for a moment. Have a search online under "new age pink meaning" for something that resonates for you.

For me, this is a direct communication from the guardian to you, pink having the powerful feminine / masculine balance so important to self realisation and spiritual empowerment. (The masculine guardian and the feminine energy that he protects - makes complete sense in this context (to me at least...))

This, of course, could be complete nonsense in your world! Just need to start building up the associations appropriate to you.

When I use spheres, it's all about the healing qualities, and tapping in to the energy at that level. When a newcomer enters my life, I spend a lot of time connecting with the guardian, just to find out what it is that the particular stone is happiest working with / on. Thereafter, it pops onto the stand and it is wither about the remote connection or, in cases of extreme unction, gets picked up and thrown at the client (very gently... )

In your case, I'd certainly go with the holding. To me my own hands might prove too much of a distraction (how vain is that... ) so the black silk would certainly help me out, without actually losing the connection with the energy field of the crystal.

Yes, I think you are right there - what you experienced was the auric presence of the crystal. Whether you ever become aware of this is pretty much down to the connection make with the guardian, and the more that you show yourself worthy of the crystal, the stronger the energy / auric field / etc. will become.

I'll post a thread here on a meditation exercise that is useful for connecting with the crystal guardian.

Yep! That's the madness coming on... Key is to be in control of it. When she is crying out for attention, but you have something more important to achieve in the "real world" just make her wait... after all, a few days wait is hardly an in-breath for one so ancient. (Erm, the crystal that is... )

Here's something you said that jumped out at me so I have to speak up....I might have written about this earlier somewhere in the forums. Having a feeling hit me is not a new concept to me. But that being said, I believe I have squelched much of this side of me as compared to when I was younger.

Maybe a little more background so you have a little better chance to see where I'm speaking from:

When I was younger (no, I am not ancient, not yet anyway), I would get very, very, STRONG feelings about things, just out of the blue. I would get a feeling that someone was going to call...sometimes I would know who it was going to be and other times I only knew it would ring. Same thing with someone just dropping by....Personally, I didn't like having someone just drop in and see the house in it's normal condition so I would pick up on this feeling quite often and I would go through the house and shove clutter into places that were kind of hidden from view, it would save me from embarrassment... mom hated when I did this because I really didn't care what it was or where I shoved the stuff, I just wanted it out of view, (my mom was not the best at keeping things spiffy and I am kind of the opposite).

There are a few experiences that still stand out to me. There was one incident in which, I became so distraught about my parents going to play cards at a friends house that I was literally, begging them not to go. I was probably about 13 or so and it was very unusual for me not to want to have the house and TV all to myself. (Remember, back in the days when kids had to watch whatever their parents were watching on their only TV set?) I just kept telling them I had a very bad feeling and I didn't want them to go.... They kept asking what was the matter, and I kept telling them I didn't know. I couldn't stop pacing back and forth and when I started crying they ended up declining the invitation, not at all happy about it either I might add! As soon as they made the decision to stay home and take care of whatever it was that was wrong with their daughter (me, :-0), a very strong feeling of relief just washed over me. A feeling of calm, like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders. My "bad feeling" was somewhat validated when we saw on the evening news about a multi-car pileup. The pileup was on the interstate they would have been traveling on at about the time of the crash if they had left when they had planned to. Would they have been in it? I have no way of knowing but I "knew" they shouldn't go.

Another time (this could fit with the symbols) my parents told me they would allow me to go to the horse races the next day and I was really excited about getting to go. That morning I got up and I wrote down 3 numbers that I felt would be in order the win, place, and show horses, I just couldn't get them out of my head so I gave my numbers to my parents. I wanted them to use those numbers and I got pretty upset about it but they were right when they said there was no way to know what race those numbers were for, so the numbers were pretty useless without that information.

YUP, there was a special race that day called the exacta. This was the last race of the day and to win you had to pick all three horses in the exact order they placed, the winner, 2nd place and 3rd. At the finish of the race the choices I wrote down came in second, third, and fourth. Then boom, the red lights on the scoreboard flashed and the announcement blasted from the loud speaker. The winner of the race was disqualified for some reason and it made all three of the numbers I gave fall right into place. They ended up being the correct winning numbers for that race. I did not say anything to my parents but I remember thinking, I told you so....my parents never said anything about it but I knew they were aware of what happened.

Both the wreck on the interstate and the horse race numbers could have been coincidences. Do I think they were? Absolutely not. Do I understand either of these events? Absolutely not....But I'm working on it.

The feelings that I got could make me quite uncomfortable...If it was a feeling about someone coming over or a phone call I felt no urgency coming with it, just a knowing kind of feeling. When it was something bad happening it was a totally different feeling. I could usually tell the difference in the every day stuff and the very important, pay attention NOW stuff. The uncomfortable feelings were linked with extreme urgency. The numbers for the race did not share the urgency of the bad feeling I had on the night of the interstate wreck. The numbers are a symbol yes, but I really didn't "see" those numbers. It just seemed like I felt that those were the numbers that were important and I needed to remember, not a vision.

That's my background in a nutshell and this is the part of me that I seem to have squelched over the years.

I went to the public library center along with my husband and daughter one morning. When we were going in the door there was an older woman coming out. I couldn't help but look at her, I was just drawn to "really look" at her. When I did look I almost couldn't stop myself from running over to her. I had the distinct impression that she either needed comfort or that she was really, really sick and needed comfort, no doubt I felt much empathy for this person.

I stopped myself from acting upon this feeling. Geeze, I didn't know this person, she didn't actually look like anything was wrong, and she had someone else walking with her so she really didn't need my help, right? You know that incident bothered me badly for several days.....I'm still kind of thinking what the heck was that? I'm not sure if this was a missed opportunity for something or not but now I wish I would have followed my gut just to find out. I could have embarrassed us all, and just went right on over there. Not sure what I would have said: oh hi, nice day...you look sick? I have no idea why this happened or what it was about.

I'm sure that most of us have come to recognise that there are parts of us which have become suppressed somewhere between the unfettered childhood wonder at life and the humdrum everyday struggle for existence that comes with age... Still in there of course... just need to find a way to get back to that place, being careful to avoid the pitfalls which potentially get us locked away for our own safety...

Don't worry about it. There will come a point when it feels right. Don't rush it. It's a big step, and if you are feeling uncomfortable at all, the other person will just be completely confused about the whole experience. It needs to feel natural.

When this kicked in with me, I too felt terrible for days after. Neither understanding what the drive was about, or what the interaction was meant to achieve for either of us, was both confusing and frustrating. I walked away from probably about a dozen such interactions before finally doing anything about it. I still don't really know what the other person gets out of it, which is a frustration of its own - not knowing whether the stranger has taken what they needed to take from the interaction (with me it's about the healing energy transfer) - and since I'm highly unlikely to meet these random strangers ever again, I suppose I never will! I'm not even sure what I am meant to learn from it either. I just trust that what had to be achieved has been...

That is how I do it, on the altar, or a mirror outside the circle to call spirits, or inside for friendlies.... balancing in your hands is too much movement for scrying, for other uses like crystal healing or transferance of energy it might be good to feel the energy though with our hands. I also will reflect a light onto its surface like the moon or a candle. The most important thing is too relax and not force, also not clear or blank the mind but allow sort of a mental wave or ping to go out as far as possible with a specific question or none just the wave before you see the misting then the clearing then the image in your minds eye/ the crystal ball it is sort of in both.

I do think it is the energy giving such a nice connected feeling to it when I'm holding but I also think by holding it I may be distracting myself a little. I am going to get a black cloth and use that over the stand with the ball placed on top of it to block any other interference. Might try a candle in back also. I'll see what happens with that. If I want to learn I know it is helpful to make myself aware of what others are doing to accomplish an end result. Thank you brifae and Haruth both for your advice.
