Goddesses Isis and Virgin Mary

Good video. And quite truth. Where I come from people till today worship Virgin Mary more than Jesus, as the priest said in the video, it's not proper for the catholic faith, but i think that worshiping "Mother God" is just in our DNA. I read about the pre-christian beliefs in my country, and especially my region, turns out that Mother Earth, by whatever name they called her, was one of the most important and definitely most beloved of the pantheon. For me, it's very exciting to see how that trend prevails in people till today. It's also very interesting, that the pope John Paul II, who was from my country, paid much more attention to Virgin Mary, and treated her more "goddeslike", than popes from Western Europe did (and do).

-Similarities of isis and mary-
Isis was the most important Egyptian Female god in ancient Egypt, the Virgin Mary is the most important female figure in Christianity
Isis is the mother of Horus, Virgin Mary is the mother of Jesus
Horus was born without a father ( Osiris was already dead), this closely resembles Jesus being born from the Holy Ghost without a father
Both of them are depicted in art holding and caring for their baby gods during infancy
At infancy Isis protected Horus from his evil uncle, while Mary protected Jesus from the infanticide fury of King Herod
The role of a merciful mother figure is identical in both cases
Both held the title "Lady of Light" because they gave birth to the light. Horus being the god of light, while Jesus is the light of the world
The solar disk of light above Isis head closely relates to the Halo of light above Mary's head

I agree that Isis and the Virgin Mary are similar. The son born to both is the newly born animus or masculine side of the personality. It denotes the spiritual or God given purpose. Mother Mary is given this same purpose again by her son Jesus at the Cross. (This act can be tallied on the “Jesus as God” side of the "Was he man?" or "Was he God?" argument.) To teach the Apostle John in the same way she taught Jesus. Both give life to their new babes through the breast (both as milk and as love from the heart)

Isis is also similar to Mary Magdalene. The shattering of Osiris resembles the process of kundalini overload. When you shatter the logical side of your being, it makes one crazy. It becomes important to collect all the pieces in order to give birth to the a new animus. While Isis does collect the pieces of her psyche and create a new animus, Mary Magdalene does not. She remains shattered and thus gives birth to a daughter, which represents the elevated feminine abilities or prophetess. The most believable stories after the crucifixion place Mary Magdalene in a cave in continuous worship, unwilling or unable to deal with people and everyday life.

Ever notice that all the phases of womanhood are named Mary? Mary the Virgin, Mary the Mother, Mary the Magdalene/Prophetess?
Ever notice that all the phases of the male master are named Joseph? Joseph the Bachelor, Joseph the Father/Protector, Joseph of Arimathea (the burier).

I don’t think that was coincidence.

The ancients understood the archetypes way better than we in the modern world. They were masters of and celebrated the phases of life.

Synchronistic... I was just reading about Ishtar today.

Ishtar, was a Goddess with a highly charged sexual appetite thus demonized by Christianity, vilifying her as the Whore of Babylon and the Mother of Harlots even though she was worshiped in Jerusalem and called the Queen of Heaven. Ironic?

So are depictions of women/feminine associated with Lucifer often?

It's interesting how people take astrotheology and myth literally... I know that Venus in Latin - the light bearer - is "Lucifer", and that it's very interesting how myth says Lucifer wanted to be like, or "as good as" God - where the Sun was often associated with God, and Venus (Lucifer) hanging out nearby the sun chasing it around... always seems to want to be as bright, but never could be of course, deemed the Morning and Evening Star, and thus falls short of being as good as the sun and is rejected.

Looking at Liberty, holding up the torch it's as if she's saying, "I want to be the light" or, "I give you light" or "The Highest Light", or another similar variation of such.
