Hi everyone,
Don't miss tonight's Lunar Eclipse, it won't be visible again until 2010. If you are in Eastern North America, the eclipse will start at 7:36pm tonight on the western shore with at total eclipse at 8:45. The moon will start to turn orange/red at about 10pm on the Eastern shore and will be so until 10:50.
It is a sight that can't be missed. For those who miss it, I'll try to take pictures with my telescope and will post them on!

The sky is clear here. I'm looking forward to seeing it - sometime around 10pm.

It's beautiful. It's another fantastic expression of how magical the universe is!
I've got my hot tea, and I'm bundled up. Time to enjoy!

Ok, I think I got a few good transitional pictures, but with an average camera, it was very difficult to take good ones.
I guess it's one of those amazing things that are just best experienced live.
Unfortunately, my camera is not state of the art yet, so I couldn't get any red moon - sorry everyone!!
Here is what I was able to take.

Thanks Drachemond. They look pretty good to me...![]()

The pictures are nice. I think they are reversed, as the mirror in a telescope shows things backwards.
The moon didn't get as "red" as they were saying on the news, it was more of a brownish color I saw.
What a great time getting outside to pay attention to the heavens. My appreciation of astrology/astronomy grows all the time.

Thanks for watching them
Thanks for the notice Celtaur, you're right I should have reversed the picture since the eclipse was totally happening the other way, but it's okay it was still pretty amazing!

These are amazing, thanks for posting them Drachemond. I didn't see the eclipse, but thanks to you I didn't miss it totally.
One isn't necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can't be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.
