I am writing a paper on the historical, contemporary, and philosophical connections between astrology and archetypal psychology, and i think polytheism is going to play a part in this paper as well. It is amazing to look at how astrology had to adapt into the dominant western paradigm we have now, where the planets are no longer used to predict anything, but as an insight into the psyche. Astrologer's had to do this, because the rise of monotheistic ideology, with its contention of free-will, coupled with their political power, made "fortune telling" illegal for many years. not to mention, to not be monotheistic made a person guilty of blasphemy, also a legal crime in much of the western world...we astrologers! we are survivors! but actually, its wonderful to look at the various aspects of the tradition that I am a part of. It gives me a greater appreciation for those who have come before me, and placed me where I am.
God, I love Astrology!
God Bless Astrology!
