You can read a bit on my blog here on Mercury.

I'm wondering if others notice Mercury retrogrades affecting your communications.

Mercury rules mentality.

The glyph symbolizes the physical life beneath the spirit, with the soul looking upward towards higher consciousness. The crescent above the circle set on the cross. Symbolic of the connection of spirit, mind and body.

My Mercury is in Aries in the 9th house. Aries is a fire sign and the 9th house symbolizes higher education, ethics, legal principles and foreign travel. I don't know a lot about astrology but I'd guess the foreign travel related to mercury would be about my mind open to world knowledge, not limited to immediate societal and regional thinking.

Looking at my Indra natal chart it does say that Mercury in the 9th house shows an interest in travel that comes from a desire to expand my understanding of life. I am forever searching out new avenues of understanding, as I have a persistent drive to find the truth. I am not just interested in the content of information, but also in it effect on people.

Amazing. I'd say this is certainly true for me.

Other aspects for mercury for me are - mercury is in soft aspect to Neptune, Mercury Trines Neptune, and Mercury is in hard aspect to my Pluto - Mercury is in opposition to my Pluto.
