Testimonials

Occasionally we randomly contact members to find out what they have to say, and get their feedback on their experience being a member of the Symbolic Living forum. Read what some of our members have to say.

I found this site when researching information on hermetics, kabbalah, rosicrucianism, etc. and was delighted to scan its contents and discover worthwhile information on subjects that were of interest to me.

I do like the way the site is organized and layed out. I have not taken advantage of all the site has to offer, but find it attractive and full of many options to utilize.

I have completed two courses, the crystal/stone course and the astrology course. I like the fact that you offer these courses, which have enabled me to expand my knowledge in areas that interest me.

Overall, your site is of great value to me and I would whole heartedly recommend it to others who share these same spiritual/esoteric interests.

I really like being a member of the site for several reasons. One being the variety and diversity of the topics discussed. And the inputs from the members are really valuable. It is not just copy-paste from some website but actual life experience which is shared here, which makes the forum unique.

I also immensely enjoyed the creative meditation course by Echo. Hopefully when work is not so taxing, I will be able to take more classes.

I want to thank you and the admin board for running such a wonderful forum online.

To be quite honest, I love the forum exactly the way it is. It seems to be well managed, organized, and any questions or concerns I’ve had are answered promptly.

The Online classes are a great addition to the forum. I plan to take another course in the future.

I’ve been part of the Distance Meditation Group for almost a year, and I have loved every minute of it. The group is very supportive of each other. There is mutual respect and trust, and I feel completely at ease sharing my experiences with them.

Actually, I love the friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere of the whole forum. I’ve met some wonderful people here who have helped me immensely on my spiritual journey. I consider this forum a very, very special place.

Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion about the forum.

I think this is a great site with a wonderful friendly community. Its not like the majority of occult forums which offers a load of off topic tripe to dominate the boards in favour of the more nostalgic and pertinent discussions. I think its wonderfully organized but would benefit with some additional sub boards come time when things begin to become increasingly bundled in the boards which offer discussion on a broader spectrum of things. I have not yet ventured into the blog section of the forum but I do think its a great asset. I’ve enjoyed my short span here as I feel part of a group and I feel that my opinion is considered and respected.

Since the inception of the worldwide web as a means of disseminating information and facilitating communication among individuals across the globe, I have rarely had the pleasure of encountering one site that fulfills all my needs as a seeker of esoteric wisdom.

Here is a solid community honoring individual self-expression that is rewarding, refreshing, and above all safe.

For the first time I have felt completely free to relay emotions without fear of judgment, and when hitting a brick wall in my personal or professional circumstances I have always found a gentle, kind and helpful feedback from participants and administrators alike.

I was incredibly impressed by the way you handled the sudden loss of a teacher and what you did to compensate the students, it was an example that many governments and institutions could look to as a role model. Teachers are top notch and I have received well beyond the enrollment fee in wisdom and skills gained.

The members come from such a diverse background, as I’m still discovering through the courses I’m taking, and I have gained wisdom from each and every encounter. Furthermore, I feel that if I were to travel to any place where a member lived I would be compelled to pay them a visit as I consider them true friends.

As a filmmaker I must add that the aesthetics are exquisite and allowing us to personalize our own profiles is a treat. I am not tech savvy by any stretch so having Celtaur in hand to assist with questions of a graphic or computer nature has been a safety net I’ve used on numerous occasions and his banner services have been utilized on my websites with great appreciation.

The site is incredibly user friendly and hands-on so all my needs have been met on all levels. I can’t sing your praises enough and please keep up the magnificent work.

With much appreciation, eightoctaves.

The site encourages the sharing of knowledge and theory, while stimulating playful dialogs. It is good that we can find overlap with anyone who is defined by recondite knowledge, advanced morals, or esoteric sensibilities. I pick up good ideas and can participate, and some times it is the opportunity to participate that results in the formulation of the good ideas. All of this and a nice basis of individuals to fall back on. Internet forums can quench the fix of an emotionally starved person.

I like being a member, because, although the place could be taken too seriously, I can talk about esoteric topics, myth, utopia, elevated consciousness, etc. Studying what’s going on in esoterica, even if modern sources may be “corrupted sore”, it is still good to be in touch and to have a voice in the domain.

I like the blog, yes. It is appropriate for the cultic person to have his own place for his fetishistic facet, or even to take seriously as a place to leave cryptic notes for a person of high level of attainment . The place is well moderated, and wisely moderated- If it is fascistic I can endorse the personality of the dictator. I don’t find the online classes appealing, and haven’t enrolled, better to support the life seminars imo.

I stumbled across Symbolic Living  just over a year ago. I have been a member of similar forums in the past, but had always drifted away, somewhat disillusioned about the prospects for genuine, fulfilling dialogue on any esoteric or spiritually motivated topic. Agendas, self interest, ego: all seemed to get in the way of useful discourse at any level. Every topic just seemed to slide into point scoring and personal invective. There just didn’t seem to be anything out there offering a positive environment in which to develop any sense of a true grass roots movement promoting the esoteric subjects. I sadly found myself cocooned in a rather fluffy forum where nothing of importance was discussed at any depth, but at least what discussions did take place did so in a positive manner.

In all honesty? When I joined Symbolic Living, I expected more of the same: egoic flaring, passive aggressive posting, personal attacks on other members who didn’t share the poster’s point of view, sad pleas to visit some half baked, ill informed site… so low had my expectations become.

How wrong can you be? Symbolic Living sits like a shining beacon.

The resource that the forum provides for true seekers of wisdom and guidance is second to none. All members treat each other with utmost respect, and are happy simply to share what they have learned, on their own unique path, without feeling the need to judge or to bring others round to a particular way of thinking. I find it such a refreshing environment, that I have been able to share things here that at lesser forums would have solicited floods of derision, cat-calling and outright hostility.

I have learned so much here. Areas of the esoteric library, of which I was ignorant, have been opened up by those further along the path of seeking their truths. Those newer to their spiritual journey are great teachers and I am humbled by their earnest search for answers, whilst their very questions have been inspirational in their own right.

What do I like about this site? The openness, the freedom to express oneself without fear of attack, the positive, life embracing attitude of a truly special membership.

Why do I like being a member? Every new thread opens a vista of new possibilities. Everything I believed could be possible in a spiritually aware community is represented here.

How do I like the services offered? The blog area allows me personal space to share ideas, make notes which may (or may not) be useful in future, have a rant, just be me! The classes offer a wonderful opportunity to explore new areas, and the book club has been a revelation – reading others thoughts and observations allows a much broader perception of a book than reading it alone ever could.

For me, the site is run flawlessly. I hate to imagine how much work goes on behind the scenes, not only in keeping the graphics fresh, but in the volume of moderation that must go on to ensure that the site remains a safe, inviting place for those unsure of their path and jaded dyed in the wool seekers alike. For some, there may be too much off topic chatter, but I love the way that personalities are revealed in those moments – and if we can’t laugh at ourselves…

Members come, members go. Some lurk in the shadows. All are welcomed for what they wish to offer, and all are free to take what they will. I’m blessed to have tripped over Symbolic Living’s doorstep. It is a house offering much hope for the future, companionship for the weary traveller and a haven in a hostile world.

Long may it flourish.

Hello, I really like the way the site is run. The forums, blogs, and pictures are organized and moderated very well. I think this site is perfect for classes and a book club, also the sponsors involved with the site are actually very tied into the site. I have not been able to participate in any classes as of yet, so I cannot give my feedback on that. I do not think my feedback is as valuable as other’s.

This site has given me more impetus to learn, and to share my own knowledge I’ve gathered over the years openly and honestly. I used to be a member of many forums with similar subjects, but they never felt right, and I wasn’t a fan of all those egos and arguments flooding the topics every time I turned around. I am constantly amazed with how members of this site focus on understanding each others perspectives and are authentically interested in learning without getting pulled into ego traps that so many other forums seem to thrive on, and even depend on. Here I am so glad people love to learn and share respectfully, pushing their ego’s aside to honor diversity in inquiry. This site draws regular members that are at a different level of consciousness than most forums I’ve encountered. I’ve gained great friends here that I can trust and learn from who are all uniquely talented in being their authentic selves.

Being a member of the book club, working through the Mystical Qabalah by Dion Fortune is a pleasure and a challenge I am greatly enjoying. I didn’t realize how useful this club would be, I’m glad it’s available, offering me the opportunity to connect with others in an organized manner. It allows me to take my time and organize my thoughts on this vast subject while also realizing other members insights. I’ve taken the Authentic Kabbalah course which was fascinating and so much more than I had expected, giving a completely different perspective than the Mystical Qabalah does. I’m planning on taking the Pathworking course too. I love Nadiya’s Astrology course which is exactly what I needed to provide me with a firm grasp on the subject, rather than always dabbling here and there.

The forum, offering a broad range of subjects is perfect for me, as I am interested in so many subjects, and the members are friendly, knowledgeable and curious. I love using the blog to share my personal side with members here and I like that this site is private. I’ve also enjoy being in the meditation group which gives me the opportunity to explore area’s of meditation I hadn’t considered before. I find the group dynamic and ideas other members have encourage me to develop my personal practice in new ways.

I like the variety of topics available here.

The site design is beautiful, aesthetically speaking.

I can’t comment on the classes or book club. I haven’t investigated the blogs.

I am used to and prefer sites where the members are more active/interactive. However, I do like the members on this site that post [they are the only ones that I have been exposed to, even if posting is pretty infrequent. I visit several times a day only to find that nothing has changed.

I also find that a lot of threads don’t really seem to develop. Once the “senior” members have posted, the thread doesn’t seem to gain momentum.

Hestia
I enjoy this site more than any I have ever visited. Everyone I have encountered is very open and willing to share information. There are many different views represented here, and all are accepted and valued.

The services offered have been wonderful. I have had opportunity to learn and grow, and I have made friends that I cherish. The site is easy to use, and well organized.

Thank You for providing a place for open minded people to share and grow.

This site has a lot of info one cannot find without some hard searching. The people here are courteous and helpful. The classes work well. The book club ,even though I haven’t spent enough time there is a good thing. I can share without the threat of being exposed to the net in general…..anonymity.

I like the way the site is run and would like to see it continue. My only regret is with the time I must spend in my mundane existence I don’t have the time I would like to spend here…..But I will do my best to spend as much time as I can.
