We are sorry to say, Elizabeth Taylor has passed away today. She died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the West Hollywood / Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles.

We had an image of Elizabeth Taylor in our banner for this site for many months, an image from the movie Cleopatra depicting Isis. With strange timing, we took it down yesterday to make a change, as we sometimes do here. This morning, a friend called and asked if the banner had been changed then gave the news Elizabeth had passed away.

Elizabeth Taylor was born in London February 27, 1932. Elizabeth passed away on March 23, 2011 at the age of 79. She will be greatly missed, but certainly not forgotten. Elizabeth, became an iconic Hollywood star, and enjoyed a career as a glamorous Movie Queen archetype.

Enjoy the film, Cleopatra from 1963 starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra, Rex Harrison as Julius Caesar, and Richard Burton as Mark Antony. This historical film follows the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra’s trials and triumphs and her close relationship with Caesar.

Madonna is all grown up. At 52 today, August 16, Madonna is still going strong in her career. Madonna celebrated her birthday Saturday night night at the Shoreditch House in London.

Focusing on film directing, and a string of fashion shoots from Dolce & Gabbana, Luis Vuitton, Versace and more, Madonna is continuing to enjoy her career and her relationship with young 23 year old Jesus Luz. She hasn’t been working on Music recently because her time is consumed with film.

Madonna continues to practice and study Kabbalah and is an active member of the Kabbalah Center. Her love of philosophy, spirituality and the meaning of life is evident throughout her music career.

She’s currently working on a new film W.E.

Madonna explained to Interview, “Yeah, [it's] the movie everyone thinks I’m making that’s supposed to be a musical about the duke and duchess of Windsor. I don’t know why that got in the newspapers. The duke and duchess of Windsor are in the movie, but it’s not going to be about them. It’s really about this other woman’s journey, and the duchess is kind of her spiritual guide… I use the Sotheby’s auction in 1998 of the duke and duchess of Windsor’s estate as a device to flash backward from.”

She added, “I’ve been writing it for the last two and a half years, to tell you the truth. It’s been kind of an obsession of mine. I started writing it when I finished filming [2008 directorial debut] Filth and Wisdom. It was actually an idea I had before that, but I made Filth and Wisdom because I realized that I didn’t really have a right to make a bigger film until I made a smaller film — and learned how to make a film.”

Although the The Dior Fall/Winter 2010 show doesn’t have the fantastic symbolism of the Egyptian Gods Haute Couture show, Dior Collections are visually pleasing. This newer show brings forth more of the always inspiring, artistic Galliano.

This collection has an inspired element of horse-rider style hip flair features and cuts. Large fur handbags, which are reflected in the style of hair, and heavy use of leathers will not be gaining points with the vegan/vegetarian community, with Pamela Anderson or PETA.

John Galliano continues to bring his flair for style to Dior, incorporated into the muted, conservative, earth tone feel fit for the collection. The music could have been more strongly fitting for the show.

The women were all beautiful, as expected, including the every growing fame of Kylie Kloss.

Galliano could have put more accentuating effort into his own attire at the close of the show. He’s becoming a pirate, nonetheless amazing.

High boots. Confidence and sheer elegance. Enjoy the collection.

She dropped out of school at 16, but her drive for success followed the steps of her father Charles Wintour, editor of the London Evening Standard. Charles turned to Anna for advice on appealing to the younger generation.

Her role is nothing less than supreme judge in the industry of fashion. If a designer is not up to her standards in their collection, they are simply not featured in her magazine. Often at the back of a designers mind when working on a collection, the question of whether Anna will like their work or not, is present. She also has enough power to be at the forefront of setting the stage of who the next generation of designers will be.

She frequently wears sunglasses, as a wall of protection. During runway shows, one can not be sure if she is pleased, or displeased with the collection by watching her.

Anna is an example, and can be considered an inspirational role model, of a determined business person who knows what she wants and how to get it. To be at that level of status in your specialty, focus, clarity and a lot of ambition can take you to where you envision yourself to be. Would you want to work for her?

In Lady Gaga symbolic style the new video, Telephone, directed by Jonas Akerlund is full of symbolism, but may be better hidden than in other videos except for the most obvious. Telephone picks up where Paparazzi left off and features Beyoncé.

Some of the symbolism is obvious and parallels earlier video’s. The most obvious symbol is the hand signal, some say is an Illuminati token initially noted with significant focus as Gaga walks by the computer with the same symbol noted in earlier video’s, said to be six. Lady Gaga makes a cameo as her brunette self in the prison cell with a look-a-like revert.

Lots of product placement in this video, diet coke, virgin mobile, plenty of fishing dating site, polaroid, and so on.

Lemniscate from the magician card in the Marseilles Tarot deck? Emphasis on power of mind/thought/knowledge, in the infinity symbol. Black and white / duality, light and dark. Our thoughts influence reality, and can last infinitely.
