Comet Pan-STARRS streaking closer to Earth. Now visible in Northern Hemisphere

Comet Pan-STARRS originating from the icy Oort cloud well beyond Pluto, and thought to be billions of years old, will pass closer to the Sun and within the orbit of Mercury this weekend.

On March 13th and 14th, Pan-STARRS will be seen near the crescent moon just after dusk. (See comet map on our earlier post here).
