I love this picture I took last month
while visiting the castle used as
Xavier's School for the Gifted in X-Men.
On Monday the Moon and Pluto meet in Capricorn a day before the Full Moon. The Sun in Cancer stands across the sky. You can read more about the two week cycle leading up to this Full Moon here.

Pluto is now in the middle of the sign of Capricorn at 15-16 degrees. This signifies a place of potency. With Pluto now retrograde, as part of our personal and collective transformation, the important thing is getting realistic about what we don’t want in our lives anymore.

What have you had enough of? What do you need to change? Purging yourself of thoughts, feelings, and especially physical objects can do wonders to clear up your energy. Sometimes we need to look at the not so nice side of life and what's getting in our way to get clearer on what direction we really want to head in.

Pluto is a heavy hitter. A potent planet in astrology, Pluto signifies deep transformation of our lives. It relates to politics and power especially now in Capricorn. The larger systems of business, bureaucracy and policies are now under Pluto's watch. The big, significant changes in the systems of the world, and in our own lives, take time, but the changes can be dramatic.

In myth, Pluto is the destroyer, and represents the underworld, the darker parts of ourselves and our lives we must face in order to clean ourselves up and choose a higher road. We understand this as our deep psychological roots and the story line of history deeply embedded in how the world has come to be as it is today.

When we descend into the underworld (look at the darker parts of ourselves and life) we can then choose to make changes that bring us toward the good, for ourselves and the world. Essentially, by knowing what’s going wrong, we can then choose to do what’s right.

In Capricorn, it is goals, achievement, career and climbing the ladder of whatever you choose that is in focus. In your own personal business or career, this is a time to look at what isn't working and using the experience as a catalyst to take a more refined route.

We know from what we observe, that politics is not for the kindhearted and generous. To get to the top of that ladder, there can be a lot of nasty competition, lots of power hungry people vying for position, and some people will fight tooth and nail against all others to get to the top. The weak, the nice, the kindhearted usually give up when competition is fierce, while those that hunger for power will do just about anything to rise to the top. It’s a demonstration of survival of the most powerful.

Instead of working together, the ego has people pushing the rest aside with a me against you mentality. We see this in politics, and business all the time. The largest corporations we know, didn’t get to where they are by being kind and gentle in business. It’s quite common that the biggest corporations consistently take ideas from small startups, or buy up the smaller companies, and implement those ideas in their own system crushing the competition before it has a chance to get far off the ground.

We see how the desire for the almighty dollar, and the power it represents, will have people often ignore the effects of their actions in order to gain what they want. The pollution of the environment is just one example. Men having power over women for thousands of years (and still continuing to this day in many regards) is another way we see the patriarchal power structure dominate.

Do we really want to live in a world where competing against one another for survival is prioritized instead of working together and co-operating in harmony?

The point is, we are smart enough now to recognize what’s going wrong in business and politics. We see how those in power create policies that favor the corporation first and foremost, while damaging results to people and the planet are ignored. We see how the media can have a strong bias. These are all examples of the demonstration of the ego. As tycoons single-mindedly focus on what they want to achieve, they often ignore the consequences of their actions and behavior. When the ends always justifies the means, you know we’re on a slippery slope.

Unconscious behavior is true in our own lives as well, with even the smallest things. For instance, you want a quick, convenient cup of coffee and like being a part of the newest trends, so you get a K-Cup machine and buy a variety of K-cups for your morning routine. With so many doing the same thing, where are all those millions of plastic containers going? Are they recyclable or are we just throwing them in the garbage and forgetting about them like millions of others, without a second thought? Is a convenient cup of coffee really worth putting more garbage into the environment? Will you take the time to seek out alternatives that have less of a negative impact? And, who is picking those coffee beans overseas? Is it child slave laborers working 16 hour days only getting paid pennies?

The fact is, there is a lot more we could all be doing to be more conscious, considerate and caring, but for so many, it’s just easier and more comfortable to ignore reality and the consequences of our actions. Ignoring consequences doesn't make them go away. This is the type of consideration Pluto retrograde in Capricorn shows us. The old ways of doing things must change in order for us to evolve.

With the Moon in harmony with Mars, and Pluto retro in Capricorn, it’s time to look at the underlying, unconscious reality of the whole picture that we often ignore, so we can take a different approach. All actions lead to results.

The Sun in Cancer encourages us to care more, about ourselves, others and the world. It’s time to be more conscious so we learn from what we’re doing wrong and make better choices instead of blindly repeating them as if nothing is the matter.

It’s officially a Full Moon in Capricorn on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 6:57 p.m. EDT.

Just before the Full Moon on Tuesday, Mercury and Saturn are in harmony. We all want to enjoy life, be creative, have fun, and travel, but sometimes life needs a bit of a serious tone as well in order to deal with, and make the best of the whole picture of reality.

To be more conscious human beings that create change for the better in the world, we need to be more attentive to consequences and karma we’re creating in the grand scheme of things. All our little actions, wants, and needs have far reaching effects that can be overlooked so easily if we focus too narrowly on our specific goals. A broader outlook is necessary.

To live a more holistic, well rounded lifestyle that cares about the world, the environment, people and animals… all of life, we need more dialogue, to educate and enlighten one another. Entertainment, performances and documentaries can be a most effective way of getting the message across. Education and awareness is key.

If we continue on the path we have been on as humanity as a whole, the consequences will just continue to escalate. Knowing better, we can choose better.

Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius encourages us to take responsibility for our actions, to respect the time we have on earth and to consider how to have far reaching consequences for the better.

The Full Moon in Capricorn reminds us to get emotionally invested in not just what we want in life for ourselves, but how our wants, desires and actions impact the world around us.

On a personal level, if you have been working towards a career goal or personal aim in life, the Full Moon can shine light on how far you’ve come, and how much you’ve accomplished. It can also remind you of what you need to let go of to make a change for the better.

The Moon is in harmony with Jupiter in Virgo on Tuesday, reminding us that to grow, we need to be organized and efficient so we can reach the big picture. If you have a home office, this is a great time to clean it up and get rid of old memories from past experiences, so you can have room and space to grow.

Venus and Saturn are in harmony on Wednesday, reminding us that love is the answer. To bring real joy to the world, love has to be at the very heart of what we're doing and why we're doing it.

The ego will never be satisfied, it always wants more. It can never have enough. The ego is based on survival. Though the ego is necessary as part of the human experience so we have the drive and determination to survive, revolving your life around superficial wants of the ego can never bring real satisfaction. Only the heart and love brings the real satisfaction in life people are looking for. If you put your ego before your heart, there will always be an emptiness that keeps you chasing after something else to try to fill it up.

Love has us make better decisions, that heal, nurture, give and share. The excesses of ego, leads to competition, anger, resentment, separation, hatred and can go so far as to eventually lead to violence.

A tell-tale sign of an excessive ego is presented in the attitude presented in the narcissist archetype. A narcissist is someone that has tunnel vision in favor of their own wants and needs. They will use and manipulate people and the world around them to their own benefit, usually playing the part in clever ways. A true narcissist has a narrow scope that the only thing that really matters is their own happiness, goals and power regardless of how their actions impact others or the world around them. They usually like to flaunt what they’ve got, and in the process, subtly or overtly, put themselves on a pedestal above others. They may also be obsessed with acquiring fame, receiving credit as the best of the best, and internally focus mainly on being idolized, or immortalized with a legacy.

The Sun enters Leo on July 22, 2016 at 5:30 a.m. EDT. Leo is a sign that relates to the ego and can be bossy and pushy, but can also often be a healthy expression of uniqueness and confidence in personal identity. If you are able to know yourself enough to be able to express yourself confidently and creatively, it can certainly be a good thing. It is when people lord their personal empowerment over others that it becomes a problem. How you act in the world comes down to self-awareness and conscious decision making.

The summer is meant to be fun. We can have fun consciously and respectfully. The Sun in Leo symbolizes creativity, growth and abundance of expression, so let the lighter side of your personality shine over the next few weeks. Enjoy life. With Mercury and Venus in Leo, this is a great time to interact with people in a light hearted, positive way, and moving towards good intentions.

It will be a great time to visit the beach of course, but to also be highly creative. Practice singing, dancing, painting, drawing, playing an instrument, photography, performance… this is the time to express yourself.

Overall, the Full Moon makes us aware of how far we’ve come but also what needs to be released and changed, so we can move forward and lead with a more positive, conscious approach to manifesting more important goals in life.

When the Moon meets Neptune on Sunday, we are reminded that what we imagine, we create. You can create much better karma for yourself and have a healing impact on the world and the lives of those around you. Sunday is a great day for a more spiritualized perspective on life. Spending time by beautiful bodies of water, such as streams, rivers, lakes or oceans, or enjoying steam room is recommended as part of your own healing.

The benefit this week is that we can recognize and get rid of all kinds of negativity, junk and baggage in our lives, so we can live more attuned to spirit, creativity, joyful expression and higher consciousness.

I will talk more about what's happening in the sky this week in the Daily Horoscopes posted every day.
