New Moon in Libra. Your Daily Astro Advice Horoscope for September 30, 2016

It’s a New Moon in Libra today. This New Moon is considered a Black Moon because it is the second New Moon this September. The last New Moon was in Virgo on September 1st.

It’s officially a New Moon in Libra on September 30, 2016 at 8:11 pm EDT.

The Moon in Libra today also connects with Mars and Jupiter.

A New Moon symbolizes a new beginning. I think every single moment is a chance for a new beginning as we always have the chance to make a choice. The New Moon in Libra brings attention to this even more, as Libra represents choices.

Mars is not in harmony with the Moon today before the New Moon arrives. This signifies releasing old energy to the past. If you have anger, or frustration you’ve been holding onto that’s been affecting how you live your life, this is the day to commit to making a change. It’s a good idea to take a look at what motivates your choices.

If you’ve been operating your life based on fear, this is the day to look at that and decide a new way forward that brings harmony into your life and the lives of those around you.

Jupiter greets the Moon before she connects with the Sun. Jupiter and the Sun are highly positive symbols in the sky bringing growth, optimism and joy.

The need for truth, justice, equality and fairness is emphasized greatly with this New Moon.

As we move into the future, the astrological symbolism points now indicates that we collectively need new approaches so we can live a more harmonious life.

I love ancient history. The way people related to life and the world through myth and symbolism is fascinating.

In ancient Egypt a symbol of balance, truth and orderwas represented by the goddess Ma’at. The myth says that at the end of one’s life, the heart of the person that passed away was weighed on scales to decide if you would ascend into the higher realms of spirit or not. Ma'at's feather was used as the comparative measure to see how pure of heart you were. A heart heavier than the feather meant you were not as pure as those that had hearts lighter than the feather.

We recognize this story now as a metaphor for the measure of how good of a person you were and how pure your intentions were to bring harmony and balance into the world. It means that after all is said and done in life, what matters is how much peace, love and joy you brought while you were here.

Choose something new today that will create better karma for yourself and all the lives you touch.
