Jupiter has been swinging through Scorpio quite fast and is now already half way through Scorpio.

It has been a real eye opener for many, since Jupiter entered Scorpio last October, coincidentally, precisely (but not surprisingly) when the sex scandals erupted in Hollywood. Mars is now moving fast forward through Scorpio as well. Raw, emotional energy could be on the rise this week.

Jupiter and Pluto are in focus to start off this week with the potential for big changes, especially in terms of finance. It can be a power week of transformation in business and politics. Rules could also be broken. It's a good time to implement changes in your own business, setting sights on new financial opportunities and creative developments.

We could see an increased interest in how the financial world operates behind the scenes moving forward. This would be a great time to watch documentaries on the subject of banking to become more educated on how things work in the larger picture.

We may see major shifts in how we relate to external authority and what we believe about the power structure of society, especially about what is hidden. The battles between the media and political figures, truth and untruth, are sure to be as intense as ever. More secrets and revelations are likely to come out in the open, and they could be quite possibly shocking. Pluto is all about purging, and in Capricorn it is the concerns of how business and politics operate that is in large focus. With so much happening in Capricorn, it won't be surprising when foundations are rocked.

The Moon is sweeping through Capricorn as the week begins, and meets with Saturn, Mercury, Pluto, the Sun for the New Moon and then meets Venus before heading into Aquarius. Some people lack energy, feel depressed or are emotionally confused leading up to a New Moon. This isn't always a bad thing, as the down times give us an opportunity to see things in a new light. Do try to focus on your goals, the ones you love, for best results and a positive attitude once the New Moon hits. Set yourself up for new growth.

This is also a good time to focus more on learning about money, debt and the value of time.

During this period, we could also see demonstrations of how money and power can cause strong emotional reactions. Feelings about power, business, money and politics are likely to change during this period. A desire for new energy is with us.

It will officially be the New Moon in Capricorn when the Moon reaches the Sun on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 9:17 pm ET. This marks new beginnings and is considered an opportune time to assess your progress and set new goals. This New Moon also indicates that building success, wealth and prosperity requires that you use your brains.

It's a great time to focus on productivity and creating goals that are tangible. Those with big goals in business, are likely to find themselves more obsessed with materialism and money, and the future.

A new perspective on authority and power will lead to new beginnings.

Venus and the Sun both enter Aquarius this week.
  • Venus enters Aquarius on January 17, 2018 at 8:43 pm ET.
  • The Sun enters Aquarius on January 19, 2018 at 10:08 pm ET.
Love can move us toward the future and lead the way. This would be a great time to explore your creatively intelligent side.

Sci-fi ideas and talk of biometrics, perhaps related to beauty and fashion, is just the tip of the iceberg. Considerations on how do we identify with the material and the mental may be expressed more fully in art and technology moving forward. Goddess centered, new age philosophies may grab some of the spotlight. An interest in feminine leadership ideals and archetypes as representatives of future power could increase.

Venus is now seen in the morning before the Sun rises. Because she is the brightest planet in the sky, she has long been traditionally known as the bringer of light and Morning Star.
